Last Minute Canadian Wedding Venues

When it comes to planning a wedding, many couples will say picking the perfect venue is one of the most important tasks. After all, selecting a location to host the nuptials and reception is often done months or even a couple of years in advance. However, not all couples have the luxury of time, as some spontaneous souls may have a last minute wedding to plan this summer. While many venues are booked come wedding season, there are still some great options for last minute weddings across Canada. Whether you want your special day to take place in Victoria or Toronto, we have compiled a few possible locations from coast to coast. 

Beacon Hill Park, Victoria BC

Right in the heart of downtown Victoria, Beacon Hill Park is an ideal location for a hasty West Coast wedding. It’s filled with manicured gardens and fountains that make for a picturesque background. While you need a permit to be wed in a park, the application only needs to be submitted 60 days in advance. Since it’s so close to the downtown core, you don’t have to worry about organizing a reception, as you can easily transition to a local restaurant with your family and friends.

If you’re planning on eloping, why not do it with the Canadian Rocky Mountains as your backdrop? There are a number of Heli-Wedding services in Alberta, where couples can exchange vows among the mountains. Often times, tour guides are able to perform the wedding and introduce couples to some of the best views of the Rockies.  

Trinity Bellwoods Park, Toronto ON

This popular weekend hangout spot is a great place to get married in the heart of the 6ix. If you’re a minimalist who wants to skip the extravagant hotels and banquet halls, an intimate outdoor wedding allows you to get back to basics. The entry gates are a picturesque background for exchanging vows., with a view of the CN Tower to set the stage as well.

Botanical Garden, Montreal QC

Recognized as one of the world’s largest botanical gardens, this Montreal oasis is the complete package for a wedding. You and your love can exchange vows among 20 thematic gardens, which span over 75 acres. Since you’ll be surrounded by flowers, that’s also one more thing to check off your wedding day list! The garden also offers rental spaces for a reception, but since it’s in the heart of the city, there are a number of surrounding restaurants around as well. 

Tall Ship Silva, Halifax Harbour NS

It’s only fitting that a last minute Maritime wedding be done at sea. While often used for sailing tours, the Tall Ship Silva is also able to accommodate couples looking to be married on the water. The 130 foot boat features a licensed pub, lounge and banquet hall. The spacious deck and bench seating ensure you don’t have the sacrifice your guestlist, which is a blessing for anyone who wants a bigger celebration.
