Justin Timberlake’s William Rast clothing line is the latest fashion brand to join forces for an affordable line at Target. A men’s and women’s William Rast for Target line will be on sale on December 19th. Prices aren’t available yet, but fashion news stories report that the line will be based on the biker and denim American culture William Rast represents. Justin Timberlake’s line joins a long list of fashion for Target collaborators including Zac Posen and Anna Sui.
Supermodel Lara Stone is going to court to fight Playboy Magazine. Lara Stone is suing French Playboy for publishing nude photos of her. Fashion news reports say Lara Stone claims Playboy had no right to publish the photos of her without authorization. She says that is not the type of magazine she wants to appear in.
Copenhagen Fashion Week could be in the record books after 220 models attempt to walk the world’s longest runway. Helena Christensen will cut the ribbon to let the model walk the mile long runway. The models will be wearing clothing by over 500 different Scandinavian fashion lines for the event. As long as none of them have Alexander McQueen inspired heels the girls should be ok.

Saks Fifth Avenue is beginning a whole new range of retail possibilities when they become the first store in the US to sell plus size high end fashion. Fashion news stories report Saks in New York is adding plus size clothing to their third floor fashion this fall. Designer brands like Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Yves Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Fendi and Roberto Cavalli will all be available in up to a size 14. Some brands will go up to a size 20. If it is successful Saks will roll out the plus size fashion in other stores as well. We expect these clothes will be snatched up immediately.
Actress Naomi Watts is the new face of Ann Taylor fashion. The fall/winter Ann Taylor line is based on a combination of European and American high end style and flare. The Naomi Watts Ann Taylor ads were shot by photographer Peter Lindbergh. Naomi Watts follows in the footsteps of other celebrities who have smiled for Ann Taylor ads including Milla Jovovich and Heidi Klum.
The fashion world is excited for the return of The Rachel Zoe Project. On August 3rd, Rachel Zoe will return to television to show us how she styles the world. This season on The Rachel Zoe Project, we will find out the root behind Taylor Jacobson’s leaving and watch as Brad gets promoted. While there will still be lots of celebrities on the show, Rachel Zoe is also working on her own clothing line, which we hope to get a peak of. Twilight fans are going to be lining up in the UK to get a hold of Robert Pattinson’s underwear. Marks & Spencer’s is releasing a line of underwear inspired by Twilight’s Robert Pattinson in September. The R-Pant underwear line will be on sale for Twilight obsessed fans for 12 pounds for a two pack of the undies. The underwear is made to suit slim fitting pants and comes in a number of different cuts.
Art periodical Visionaire is releasing an issue dedicated to Alexander McQueen’s work with a special twist. The magazine will be printing the Alexander McQueen special of the magazine on paper embedded with wildflower seeds. Once you are done reading the magazine, you can plant it in your garden. The fashion designer had reportedly wanted to work with Visionaire magazine before his death, but it never came to fruitition. This is a beautiful tribute for them to put in place instead.
It was only a few months ago that the pair made fashion news headlines when a rumour arose that they had wed in a secret ceremony, but fashion designer Marc Jacobs and his ‘husband’ Lorenzo Martone have split up. While there have been rumours for some time, Lorenzo Martone confirmed on Twitter that he and Marc Jacobs have been split up for some time now. The pair have been seen together at events, but Lorenzo said that he and the fashion designer have actually been split for 2 months now.

Fashion company Liz Claibourne is closing all of their 87 outlet stores by the beginning of 2011. Liz Claibourne will instead be putting their focus on partnerships with fast fashion retailers JC Penney and QVC. The company doesn’t feel the outlet stores fit with their business model any longer since they have many lines that are exclsuive to QVC and JC Penney. If you head to an outlet now though, you can probably get some amazing deals.
Fashion brand Lacoste announced they are developing five jewelry lines. Lacoste will debut the new jewelry in September when they release their new Spring/Summer 2011 line. This is a part of their plan to create a full female lifestyle brand out of Lacoste. The Lacoste jewelry lines will not only include tradition jewelry choices, but also charms for your handbag and mobile phone.
Golden Girl Betty White is creating her own celebrity fashion line. Betty White has been gaining popularity even since she appeared in a Superbowl commercial last year. Despite her popularity, this celebrity fashion line was unexpected. A line of tshirts and sweatershirts with Betty White’s face on it will be sold online at HoodieBuddy for $48.00 with a portion of sale going to the Morris Animal Foundation.

Fashion designer Stella McCartney has designed a line of glow-in-the-dark clothing for her fall collaboration with Adidas. At first the idea sounds wild, but the collection could be a lifesaver for night time runners who want to stay safe. The Stella McCartney Adidas line includes a glow-in-the-dark jacket and running shoes which are available now for around $200.00.
We have talked before about the dangers of buying counterfeit merchandise. Tonight 20/20 is airing a television special about the plethora of websites selling fake Christian Louboutin shoes. Louboutins can cost thousands of dollars, but you can find millions of fake sites selling what they claim to be real Louboutins for a few hundred. The 20/20 special will show you just how good these knock-off Louboutins are and why they aren’t worth the cost.
A private memorial in honour of fashion designer Alexander McQueen has been announced. A special service will take place at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London during London Fashion Week to celebrate McQueen’s life and contributions to fashion. The memorial will be attended by friends and family.
To help celebrate the 20th anniversary of menswear designing, CNN will be hosting a fashion news special and backstage look at designers Dolce & Gabbana.
Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana gave CNN an insiders look at the fashion design team at home, fashion shows and at their celebration in Milan. Tonight fashion fans will get a rare look at the men behind the fashion in a 30 minute CNN special.

Fashion designer Norma Kamali has designed a sleepwear line to be sold at WalMart. The Norma Kamali sleepwear line will feature eight sleepwear sets available in sizes XS all the way to 3X. As you can expect from Wal-Mart the prices will be very affordable ranging from $8 to $14. The sleepwear looks extra cozy including a boyfriend shirt, robe and light jersey loungewear.
Other big box fashion retailer, Target, is also getting some expert fashion help. Nina Garcia, fashion director of Marie Claire magazine and Project Runway judge, will be Target’s new fashion expert. So far Nina Garcia has been featured on their website talking about fashion tips and new ideas to spice up your style in blogs and videos. No word has been given to fashion news outlets on what else we can expect to see from Nina Garcia and Target.
If you are interested in getting to the real roots of Yves Saint Laurent’s fashion, there is an event coming up you may want to see. The Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent Foundation is putting on anYves Saint Laurent retrospective in Marrakech. Yves Saint Laurent’s fashion was inspired by Morocco in the 60’s. Forty-four of the pieces he created in honour of their fashions will be on display. The fashion display will open on November 27.

The fall DKNY fashion campaign is all about the city girl. From the hustle of a day in the city, to a walk in the park, or a night on the town, the DKNY campaign shows you that this fashion is for you.
The browns and blacks you see in the images are a good representation of what we will be seeing from every designer going into fall. The looks we saw back at the fashion shows were all dark and neutral shades.

Forever 21 is ready to compete against retailers H&M and Target with their first designer collaboration clothing line. Fashion news source WWD reports that on August 13th the Brian Lichtenberg fashion line for Forever 21 will go on sale in 200 stores. Brian Lichtenberg designs have been seen in Lady Gaga music videos and on young Hollywood stars like Kim Kardashian. The 12 Brian Lichtenberg designs will be on sale at Forever 21 for around $14.80 each. Clothes include a shirt inspired by the caution tape Lady Gaga outfit he made for the “Pokerface” video.
The upcoming Fashion’s Night Out shopping event has been getting a lot of time in the fashion news pages. Now it will be the star of Gossip Girl as well. Rumours have surfaced that Gossip Girl will air not one, but two episodes centered around Fashion’s Night Out. We can just imagine the fabulous fashion deals Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf will buy.
Diane von Furstenberg is joining the Radio City Rockettes for an evening. The fashion designer will be joining the Rockettes on stage at the Life Ball in Vienna tomorrow for a special presentation. Fashion news outlets report Tommy Hilfiger is creating a new younger fashion line simply named, Tommy. The Tommy line will be aimed at buyers in their mid-20’s. The fashion brands says the fashion will be a new take on the Tommy Hilfiger preppy style. Tommy will debut in Canada in October at three Tommy Hilfiger stores (two in Toronto and one in Edmonton).
Move over Lourdes Leon because a new celebrity fashion blog is making fashion news headlines today. Rockstar Courtney Love is making news for her new fashion blog What Courtney Wore Today. Courtney Love’s fashion blog is made up of pictures of the singer backstage at shows and in her day to day life with little blurbs about who and what she is wearing. We have never thought of Courtney Love as a fashion icon before, but people will want to hear what she says.
Fashion designer Stella McCartney has been appointed as the creative director for Team Great Britian for the 2012 Olympics. Stella McCartney will create and oversee the designs for the whole Great Britain olympic team as they host the next Olympic Games. She will also work on the Olympic apparel create for fans of the games. Canada had a huge hit with the red mittens from our Olympics, so it will be interesting to see what Stella McCartney can create for the next games.
