Maybelline New York Cosmetics has revealed plans to give you a more natural look with their new line of face makeup.
The new Fit Me line of makeup products from Maybelline will be a fool proof system to help you get the right shade for your skin tone. The Fit Me line will include foundation, powder, concealer, blush and bronzer all number coded so you know which colour will work best with your skin tone. This isn’t exactly a brand new idea for makeup. True Match also has a number system for their foundations, concealers and powders.
The difference is that Maybelline has created 18 different shades. That is more colour options than every other makeup line we can think of. This could get your even closer to your true skin colour than usual. We also love that Maybelline has included blush and bronzer because have all struggled to find a shade that isn’t too bright.
While there is no word on when the line will be in stores, prices will range from $5.51 to $7.99 for the makeup line.

We told you earlier this year that Payless Shoes was launching a new makeup and beauty lines. Since we are getting ever closer to the release date the shoe and accessories store is giving more hints as to what we can expect.
Payless will have 2 lines of beauty products: Unforgettable Moments and Zoe & Zac Naturals.
As you can assume from the name, Unforgettable Moments is their wedding and special occasion makeup line. The makeup will come in pretty pastels for your eyes, nails and lips, so you can have one stop shopping for all wedding accessories.
Zoe & Zac Natural will be the eco-friendly beauty line for Payless. The line will have recyclable containers and is free of any harmful chemicals according to news stories. Zoe & Zac Natural will contains body butters lip balms and other beauty products.

Sometimes it seems like the UK gets all of the good beauty products first. Now, in another groundbreaking beauty revelation from across the pond, the world’s first halal makeup has launched.
You may not realize it, but a number of your favourite beauty items use pig by-products and alcohol to keep you pretty. These are two things banned under Islamic law. Samina Akhter, who is a Muslim, saw this problem and decided to create a makeup line that she could use. Now after years of testing, the Samina Pure Make-up is available. It’s the first British halal makeup on the market.
The Samina Pure Make-up includes foundation, blush, eyeshadow and lipsticks free from alcohol and pig by-products. They are currently testing halal mascara. Instead of using these products the makeup is made from plants, oils and minerals.
Samina says the response from Muslim women, and even vegans and animal right activists, has been great. You can get the makeup online now to give it a try.

At Real Style Network’s beauty blog, we don’t only want to get reviews from our Beauty Guinea Pig, but we also love recommendations from friends, coworkers and readers.
A friend of one of our Real Style Beauty staffers put us on to the new Sally Hansen Color Quick Chrome Pens. She said she heard about the nail polish pens and was going to try it out. When she did she phoned us immediately to give us the scoop.
She actually called these nail polish applicators amazing. The nail polish pens claim to be easy to apply and quick to use and she absolutely agreed. She said using the pen was a breeze you just click and apply. While she said she did need two coats, it was so easy that it didn’t take any time at all. Her only complaint was that she had to be careful with the amount the pen dispensed because sometimes it left her nails feeling goopy with color.
The Sally Hasen Color Quick Chrome Pens are available in 8 colors now. We can wait to get our hands on one.

In breaking beauty news, MAC Cosmetics has decided to stop all shipments of their controversial Rodarte makeup collaboration.
We’ve been following this MAC makeup controversy since it began last month. When MAC announced the names of the products in their Rodarte makeup line, beauty bloggers rose up in protest calling the makeup names ‘tasteless.’ MAC Cosmetics apologized and set up a charity to donate proceeds to the people of Juarez. Now they have pulled the plug on the makeup line all together.
In a statement on their facebook page, MAC Cosmetics said: M·A·C and Rodarte are deeply and sincerely sorry and we apologize to everyone we offended. We have listened very closely to the feedback of concerned global citizens. We are doing our very best to right this wrong. The essence of M·A·C is to give back and care for the community and Rodarte is committed to using creativity for positive social change. We are grateful for the opportunity to use what we have learned to raise awareness on this important issue.
They will still donate the expected amount they would have made to charities to benefit the women of Juarez.
While this may be a heartfelt apology, is it too late for MAC Cosmetics to make up for their mistake? Some of the comments from fans reading the apology felt the harm had already been done. Commenters said things like “Wow! MAC actually thought there wouldn’t be any backlash to the campaign and names of the new products? Wow is all I can say. How tactless.”
Nevertheless, the majority of their fans think that while this may have been a pr disaster for MAC Cosmetics, at least it got the word out about the tragedies in Mexico. So while it might not have helped the beauty company, in the bigger picture some good may come out of this makeup collection after all. We tend to hold a similar opinion. This is an unfortunate oversight for MAC, but MAC still create excellent products and make an effort to be forward thinking and innovative in their products.

The beauty blogs are heating up with news that actress Gabourey Sidibe may be creating her own makeup line.
Last week Precious star Gabourey Sidibe attended a party hosted by Estee Lauder. The very same day, she was spotted going in to a meeting with makeup expert Bobbi Brown. All of these things combined has led some beauty bloggers to believe that Gabourey Sidbie may be working on a makeup collaboration with Bobbi Brown herself.
While no official news has come out, Bobbi Brown and Gabourey do have a history together. Bobbi Brown did Gabourey’s makeup for the Golden Globe Awards. This will be an interesting beauty collaboration if it ever comes into fruition.

We all know Bobbi Brown is a makeup expert with a bestselling line of cosmetics. Did you know that she is a bestselling author as well? The beauty maven is finally ready to release her second beauty book. This book is aimed at sharing her beauty expertise with young women.
Beauty Rules is the new book by beauty expert Bobbi Brown that claims to include “fabulous looks, beauty essentials, and life lessons for loving your teens and twenties.” The book features makeup tips and tricks for younger girls just getting into makeup and wanting to experiment. It also has tips on living healthy including fitness and nutrition advice from Bobbi Brown. We wish that this book was around when we were teens, so we could get advice from a pro.
Bobbi Brown told the Los Angeles Times she felt it was time to release a second book, 10 years after her first. She said she chose to fill the book with images of real girls and not celebrities to show that it’s ok to be yourself and look different. She revealed that even the cover model is a waitress from Bobbi Brown’s hometown.
Bobbi Brown chose teen celeb Hilary Duff to write the introduction, because she feels that she is a great idol for young girls.
If you, or your daughter, is looking for makeup and beauty tips, Beauty Rules by Bobbi Brown will be in stores on August 25.

If you are a natural, mineral makeup purist, then you will be happy to know that makeup company Pur Minerals have finally released images of their fall makeup collection.
The fall Pur Minerals natural makeup line comes in two colour sets. There is the Earthy Pleasures makeup set in bronze and neutral tones. The Heavenly Delights makeup is in pinks and pastel shades. While many of the colour trends we are seeing for fall are dark, we appreciate these light shades. The light colours will be more suitable for a day time look than some of the other fall makeup trends.
As a huge bonus, the powders and shadows in the Pur Minerals makeup line are made to be multi-functional. So you can mix and match the shades as eye shadow, blush and eye liner.
The Pur Minerals makeup line also states that it is animal cruelty free. In other words, they don’t test on animals, which as animal lovers we absolutely love!

A new foundation from Lancome is expected to change the way you think about makeup. The new Teint Miracle Foundation is said to be the lightest and most natural looking foundation available, which could change the way beauty products are made.
This is big hype for any makeup, but L’Oreal the makers of Lancome put a lot of thought into the new makeup. The beauty company studied and questioned women around the world on their beauty needs. They took all that research back to their beauty labs and came out with Teint Miracle Foundation.
Without getting into the specific science of it all, the new Lancome foundation is said to mimic the natural light and radiance of your skin at it’s best. It will give you the look of perfect skin at all times. The makeup also has four times more water than the regular Lancome foundation making it feel lightweight. Of course it also includes SPF15 and moisturizer.
Lancome is launching their new foundation around the world in November and they expect women to see the difference. While the idea is great, these are big claims by a beauty comapny. At $37 a bottle, we are cautious to believe this makeup is the miracle product. We want to believe it is though.
