Korean Beauty Brands That You Should Know About

With the popularity of Korean beauty and skincare gradually increasing in North American, it’s no secret that products from South Korea are becoming mainstream. The revered beauty secrets and tricks of Korean women have led to a fixation on achieving glowing, dewy skin and rocking the no makeup look. With Korean makeup involving minimalism (as opposed to a bronzed complexion and smokey eyes), the focus is often on a fresh, youthful visage. With some skincare regimens involving up to ten steps, skincare plays a massive role in Korean beauty. Over the past few years, a number of brands have become more commonplace with beauty fanatics. If you want to draw your skin and cosmetic cues from this Asian culture, we’ve rounded up a few Korean brands that are increasingly earning a reputation in the beauty world.

Missha

Missha launched in 2000 and claims to offer more than over 600 products from cosmetics, hair products and skin care. The brand believes in creating quality products at an affordable price, and is known for their range of BB creams.

Amore Pacific

Amore Pacific was created in 1945 and owns 30 brands that offer beauty and health care products. The beauty company claims to create its products by handpicking ingredients from their own gardens. Some ingredients they use in their products are green tea leaves, bamboo sap and a plant called red ginseng. Amore Pacific has their own research laboratory and only uses the most cutting edge technology to create their products, which can be purchased online.

Etude House

Etude House is one of the most popular beauty brands in Korea, and is owned by Amore Pacific. They have three flagship stores that are princess themed. The brand is said to create products for trendy young women who aim to be perceived as beauty icons. The brand offers everything from nail polish and skincare products to perfume and a hair line.

Moonshot

Moonshot has its own flagship store in Seoul, where it carries a selection of cosmetics and skincare. The products are targeted to a stylish and contemporary client, with well-known Korean models such as Sungkyung Lee and Sora Choi being chosen as famous faces for the brand.
