From January 19-22, the 19^th annual Interior Design Show is slated to take over Toronto’s Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The yearly Canadian design extravaganza launches with an Opening Night Party, which features music by German duo Satin Jackets.

The show itself features a special installation by Spanish artist and designer Jaime Hayon, who has collaborated with quartz countertop line Caesarstone. Hayon’s project, Stone Age Folk, is said to feature 48 colours and a kaleidoscopic aesthetic. The Madrid-born creative soul is said to merge the worlds of décor and art with this new initiative.

Visitors who are coveting new accents for their humble homes can also drop by the Designboom Mart, an international design market which features works from 30 different professionals. If you are passionate about outdoor living, the show’s Open Air exhibit just may suit your creative tastes. This installation highlights the vision of landscape designers and architects, from backyard designs to materials.

For those intrigued by lighting, the Partisans Factory is a warehouse and artist studio offers a glimpse of sculptural lights designed by Partisans and LightForm. Meanwhile, the Studio North and Prototype marketplace will showcase 65 local and global designers. From furnishings and glass to ceramics, the gallery and market aims to bring up-and-coming design talents into the spotlight.

With special guests such as Canadian fashion journalist Jeanne Beker and interior designer Amanda Nisbet, IDS also offers speakers and learning opportunities. Whether you’re passionate about furniture or obsessed with textiles, the Interior Design Show just may offer something to intrigue your inner décor addict.
