Top Toronto Restaurants To Try For Winterlicious 2020

From January 31 to February 13 2020, Toronto is not only in the middle of winter, but also in the middle of their annual Winterlicious event. It’s the time of the year where you can try some of Toronto’s best restaurants, without breaking the bank. Where you can try something new, or go back to something familiar. This year more than 200 restaurants are taking part in the event, offering three-course, fixed-prices meals for both lunch and dinner. The only problem is deciding where to go. Here are some of our favourites.

Toula Restaurant & Bar: If you are looking for a great view of downtown Toronto and Lake Ontario while you eat, Toula might just be for you. This restaurant is situated on the 38th floor of Westin Harbour Castle, and features a menu of American, Canadian and Italian dishes. It’s a beautiful experience, perfect for a romantic night out.

Veloute Bistro & Catering: This cosy little restaurant in the heart of the Toronto Beaches has a French / Italian menu, brought to you by Chef Fawzi Kotb. Their food is farm-to-table, using locally sourced ingredients, so you know it’s not only fresh, but healthy as well.

Lisbon by Night: If you are looking for authentic Portuguese cuisine, this restaurant is for you. The menu features seafood, steak and more, and if you go on the weekend there is live entertainment.

Miku Toronto: You will want to book now if you are looking to enjoy this Toronto hotspot. This Japanese restaurant originated in Vancouver, but now has a location in Toronto’s Harbourfront area. It’s a mix of traditional Japanese flavours, with East Coast elements.

Bar Buca: Award-winning Chef Rob Gentile brings an Italian-inspired menu to the Yonge and Eglinton part of the city, and has some of the best house-made pastries and coffee in the city. For your main course, you can choose between all the usual Italian offerings, including pizza and pasta.

Planta Yorkville: With all the focus on vegetarian food, and plant-based cuisine these days, you may want to give Planta a try. Their menu, brought to you by Chef David Lee, features Italian fare, but is all vegan using all-sustainable ingredients.
