Pantone Names Classic Blue Their Color of the Year For 2020

Is your house looking for a fresh, new look for the new year, but you can’t decide which colour to go with? Or perhaps you are shopping for a new car, but each colour looks just as good as the next. Well Pantone can help, as they’ve named Classic Blue as their recommended colour of choice for the year.

Pantone has been naming colours of the year for 20 years now, and while the first couple of years nobody really knew who the company was or what they were all about, experts keep a close eye on what they say now. From home decor, to automobiles, to office decorations and much more, the colour of the year can help you keep on trend. This year Pantone has gone with Classic Blue, which is described as a familiar, calming shade of azure. The choice is a far cry from 2019’s Living Coral, mostly because it is a much more recognizable shade.

On their Instagram page, Pantone says “Classic Blue was inspired by its transitional quality, and how that manifests in the sky at dusk.” Throughout their advertising campaign, Pantone has partnered with several different brands inspired by their choice of colour, companies which help them develop the smell, sound, taste, and texture of Classic Blue.
