Vancouver Festivals To Hit Up This Winter

With its scenic views, picturesque landscape and rather mild climate, Vancouver is one of Canada’s top destinations to visit – especially in the winter season. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, the bustling city offers loads of festivals and events that showcase the town’s cultural diversity, artistic community and widely popular outdoor activities. With all of its natural beauty and of course West Coat rain, Vancouver has become Canada’s very own urban rainforest – with the added perk of snowy mountains. From its indulgent food and drinks to its enchanting ski hills, here is our list of must check out events happening this winter!

Dine Out Vancouver Festival

What started out as a group of food and wine enthusiasts has grown into Canada’s largest food and drink festival. Dine out Vancouver brings together hundreds of chefs as well more than 300 restaurants, wineries and craft breweries for 17 days of flavourful fun. Some of this year’s most popular restaurants participating in the three course meal extravaganza are Vancouver’s very own Bishop’s, Fayuca and Mak N Ming. Don’t forget to book your reservations! The last day to feed your cravings is February 4th.

Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival

Returning to Vancouver for its 8th year in a row, the Hot Chocolate Festival is here to sweeten up the damp and gloomy days of Canada’s famous West Coast winter. With over 75 flavours to sip on, including favourites such as “Ho Ho Ho Hazelnut” and “Chocobomb,” you’ll definitely find that hot chocolate helps to melt your sorrows away. From chocolatiers and pastry shops to cafes and ice cream parlors, Vancouver’s sweetest vendors are coming together to brighten up the winter blues. Running until February 14th, you are sure to be feeling full of warmth just in time for Valentine’s Day.

24 Hours of Winter

The magical Grouse Mountain is opening its frosty land for 24 consecutive hours of winter celebrations. From sunrise on February 17th to sundown on February 18th, you are welcome to ski, skate or dance the night away! From classic winter sports to romantic light walks and yoga under the stars, there is something for every snowbird to jump into on this round-the-clock winter playground.
