Whether you’re going out to dinner with friends, going on a date or need a spot to host an event, Vancouver offers countless restaurant options which can suit your palate. Since Vancouver is on the West Coast, seafood is very popular there, which makes it the perfect spot for those who are craving underwater delicacies. Not only that, but if you’re looking to impress your date or guests, many of the restaurants we have gathered below offer a luxurious atmosphere and fine dining. Have a look at this roundup, which includes everything from sushi to French cuisine.
Blue Water Café & Raw Bar
If you’re in the mood for seafood or if you’re craving sushi, then grab a glass of wine from Blue Water Café and enjoy the elaborate dishes they have to offer. The café is located in Yaletown, with executive chef Frank Pabst and sushi chef Masaaki Kudo in charge. The restaurant claims to use all fresh ingredients, and to bring the flavours of the ocean into its menu.
Hawksworth Restaurant is located inside the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, and offers dishes for breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner. Internationally known Chef David Hawksworth tries to use as many Canadian ingredients as he can to create local cuisine. As the restaurant has its own private rooms on site, it can be an ideal spot for business lunches or formal gala events.
Located by the waterfront, Miku offers Aburi-style sushi. Aburi means “flame seared” in Japanese, and the flame searing technique is to intensify the flavour of the seafood. The restaurant has a private dining area for private events, a full bar and patio seating, as well as a takeout option. Executive Corporate Chef Kazuya Matsuoka and Executive Chef Kazuhiro Hayashi work together to incorporate Japanese techniques and use ingredients from Vancouver itself to create unique dishes.
L’Abattoir is located in Gastown and offers food inspired by the French. Not only they do they offer private dining areas, they also offer unique cocktails to enjoy. Chef Lee Cooper and Owner Paul Grunberg work together to create dishes for brunch, dinner, and dessert. From smoked spring salmon to duck glazed with long pepper honey, the menu offers seafood, meats, appetizers and much more.
