Travel To London This Autumn To Explore Their Exciting Season Of Culture
London, England is one of those magical places everyone needs to visit at least once in their lifetime. You get a real sense of history as you walk their winding streets, exploring the historical city that runs across the Thames. The city is full of cultural delights year round, and this autumn is no different. Here are some of our favourites this year.
London Fashion Weekend runs at Saatchi Gallery from September 22nd until September 25th. This exhibition is a fashionista’s dream come true, as you experience what it’s like to be a fashion insider. SIBLING, J.JS Lee and Preen by Thornton Bregazzi will be showcasing their Autumn/Winter 2016 collection during the event. Not only that but you can experience free talks from editors, stylists and experts, as well as beauty treatments, manicures and massages and discounted clothing. For lovers of beauty and fashion, you can’t get much better than that.
The Radical Eye: Modernist Photography from the Sir Elton John Collection at Tate Modern from November 10th – May 7th. Elton John has a large collection of modernist photography, and now he’s sharing it with the public in this large exhibition. The showcase features more than 150 rare, vintage photographs from 60 artists. From Berenice Abbott to André Kertész, experience a different way to look at the modern world.
William Kentridge: Thick Time at the Whitechapel Gallery from 21 September 2016 to 15 January 2017. The South African artist brings his first major solo exhibition to the UK with this installation. It features six large scale works that he created between 2003 and 2016, including The Refusal of Time, which is described as a “multi-sensory installation combining performance, sound and moving images”.
Wonderlab: The Statoil Gallery at The Science Museum from October 12th 2016 to January 1st 2020. This new permanent interactive science gallery is comprised of seven themed zones that will inspire and awe through their immersive exhibits, artwork and live shows. Spark your curiosity today!
Michael Clark Company: New Work 2016 at the Barbican Centre from October 6th to October 15th. This dance company returns to the Barbican Centre after two years with a new show. Clark is well known for his experimental and intense choreography, and this new show is expected to be more of the same. It’s a cultural dance experience you don’t want to miss.
