Paris Fashion Week Fall 2017 Best Looks

With the Fall 2017 shows in the City of Light officially drawing to a close, the Paris runways have brought us the latest in detailed textures, vibrant hues and silky fabrics. From classic plaids luxurious pleated frocks, the French catwalks revealed everything from buttoned-up sophistication to elegant luxury.

At Chanel, creative director Karl Lagerfeld turned to an outer space theme, with rockets setting the stage for an intergalactic adventure. The models themselves strut the catwalk in sparkly silver grey tights, accessorized with funky silver boots. Meanwhile, black and white tweed jackets, long grey coats and shiny metallic accents brought a combination of classic and futuristic styles together.

Meanwhile, designer Sarah Burton presented a collection for Alexander McQueen which was inspired by the beautiful British scenery of Cornwall. The Fall 2017 lineup involved colourful embroidery, patchwork frocks and brilliant shades of red. For a finishing touch, waists were defined with black leather belts. From sheer illusion necklines to plush red fur accents, pops of colour brightened the otherwise typically rebellious McQueen designs.

At Giambattista Valli, French femininity ruled the designs. The Italian-born designer unveiled black and white gingham prints, which made an appearance on everything from three-quarter length coats to fitted long-sleeved shirts. White lace dresses were detailed with high collars and tiers, while black crochet frocks and sassy red ruffles brought a contrasting touch to the runways.

The Valentino catwalk was resplendent, as creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli sent a series of flirty, girlish creations down the runway. From long lavender-coloured coats to swinging dresses accented with florals and splashy graphic prints, the Fall 2017 aesthetic was playful and colourful.

Designer Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski presented wearable and versatile pieces at Hermès, with plenty of dusky pink, scarlet red and navy blue dominating the collection. From pretty pink plaid prints to black leather trousers, there was juxtaposition in the colours and fabrics. Softly draped camel capes, hints of mustard yellow and lavender frocks and blouses also enjoyed a moment on the catwalk.
