When Cats was first announced to be made into a theatrical film buzz started picking up that it might be an Oscar contender. Unfortunately however, the story and CGI effects proved to be too silly for the screen, and it became one of the biggest bombs of the year. And now it’s being “rewarded” for its failure.


Cats Set To Lose At Least $71 Million

Before Cats released their first trailer there were high-hopes for the musical at the box office. With an Oscar-winning director (Tom Hooper, The King’s Speech) before the camera, and stars such as Taylor Swift, James Corden, Idris Elba, Jason Derulo, Jennifer Hudson, Judi Dench, and more in it, the film seemed like a can’t miss combination of talent. Now however the film looks to be on its way to losing at least $71 million.


The Musical Cats Set To Get The Big Screen Treatment

Musicals have always been big in Hollywood, with plenty of stage hits getting the big screen treatment as well. What’s surprising is that one of the biggest musicals of all time has never been turned into a movie. Well that’s about to change as Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats is set to start filming this fall, and the cast is turning heads.
