1917 Looks Gorgeous On Bluray

1917 was one of those films that came out of nowhere. It had very little advertising, and the trailers weren’t playing ad nauseam. For fans of director Sam Mendes, and of war films, they knew it was coming of course, but for the average movie going audience it just showed up one day on their now playing lists. Then before anyone knew what was happening, it started getting buzz and winning awards, and suddenly it was an Oscar contender. While the film didn’t win any of the top awards, it still took home three Oscars (Cinematography, Sound Mixing and Visual Effects) and is considered one of the best films of 2019.

Terminator: Dark Fate Now Available On Bluray

At one point Terminator: Dark Fate was set to be one of Fall’s biggest films, and then it became one of the year’s biggest bombs instead. Made for a budget of over $185 million, the film only made just $62 domestically. Worldwide the numbers look a bit better at $261 million, but still the numbers were far from great, or from what was expected. The bigger question is though, was it really that bad, or was the audience just fickle on it for some reason?

Good Boys Is A Younger, Less Funny Version Of Superbad

Overlord Shouldn’t Be Overlooked on Bluray

Overlord is one of those movies that hits the theatre and quickly disappears because nobody knows what it is. It wasn’t advertised much, and the trailer didn’t play in front of a lot of films. While it did play during some of the smaller film festivals, and critics generally have given it a favourable review, Overlord still hasn’t gotten the love it has deserved. Hopefully word of mouth spreads though, because it is one of those films that you really don’t want to miss.

First Man Launches On Bluray

We’ve all heard the stories about the first trip to the moon (including the conspiracy theories that it was faked), but what we haven’t heard a lot about is the astronaut who took the first steps on the moon. Sure he was in the spotlight and became a national treasure, but who was Neil Armstrong the man? First Man takes a glimpse into Armstrong’s life, and tries to show us personal side of this very public figure.

Transformers: The Last Knight Looks Good On Bluray

2017 has seen several big budget films fall into the category of “not very good”, and thus become a failure at the box office. Transformers: The Last Knight is one of those, and it is the first in the franchise to be labelled both a critical and commercial bomb. However with the digital and bluray release of the film this week, some of that loss may yet still be recuperated.
