Schitt’s Creek To Get An Hour-Long Farewell Special After The Series Finale

It’s been long known that the hit CBC series Schitt’s Creek would be ending on April 7th, but now we’re being told that we will also be treated with a special hour-long goodbye special after the episode ends.

CBC announced yesterday that the special,  Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: A Schitt’s Creek Farewell, which will air after the series finale on Tuesday, April 7.  The special is being described as “an intimate and behind-the-scenes look at the making of the sixth and final season.” The special will feature never-before-seen footage of table reads, audition tapes as well as the last day on set. We will also be treated to interviews with the cast and creators, as well as celebrity superfans including Carol Burnett, Cameron Crowe, Amy Sedaris, Will Arnett, Tony Hale and more.

In a released statement, Sally Catto of CBC said “‘Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: A Schitt’s Creek Farewell’ is our way of commemorating the end of this truly iconic series and saying thank you to all the fans in Canada and around the world who have joined us on a beautiful six-year journey. This special night of programming gives audiences an opportunity to say goodbye to the characters, cast and town that have meant so much to them. In the words of David Rose himself, ‘I feel like that needs to be celebrated.’”

The final episode of Schitt’s Creek will air on Tuesday April 7, at 8PM, with the special airing at 8:30.
