Actresses Who Have Starred In Films With Their Mother

Happy Mother’s Day! In order to celebrate this special day along with our readers, we’ve put together a list of actresses who have been lucky to star on the big screen along with their famous mother.

Angelina Jolie & Vivienne Jolie-Pitt – Vivienne was only five years old when she made her first, and only appearance on screen to date in her mom’s film Maleficent in 2014.

Susan Sarandon & Eva Amurri Martino – Real Style cover girl Susan Sarandon and her daughter from her marriage to director Franco Amurri, Eva Amurri Martino have starred alongside one another several times. They play mother and daughter in the 2002 film The Banger Sisters, appeared in an episode of the hit TV show Friends together, and are in the new movie Mothers and Daughters. Martino even appeared in 1995’s Dead Man Walking as a 9 year old version of her mom’s character.

Meryl Streep & Mamie Gummer – Mamie Gummer is Meryl Streep’s second of four children, and she’s starred along side her Oscar winning mother 3 times. The first was in 1986’s Heartburn, the second was 2007’s Evening, and the third in 2015’s Ricki and The Flash. The interesting thing is that in Evening they play the same character. Gummer just plays a younger version of her mother’s character, so they don’t get to share any screen time.

Demi Moore & Rumer Willis – Rumer has appeared in two of her mother’s films. The first being Now and Then in 1995, before landing an even bigger role in 1996’s Striptease. She actually plays her mother’s daughter in Striptease. For the record, she’s also starred in films with her famous dad as well, 2000’s The Whole Nine Yards, and 2005’s Hostage. Altogether they make up her first four acting credits!

Blythe Danner & Gwyneth Paltrow Blythe and Gwyneth played mother and daughter in 2003’s Sylvia.  The film studied the relationship between American poet Sylvia Plath  relationship Ted Hughes.
