Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici’s First Interview Highlights After Bachelor Finale
Real Style was on a conference call today with Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici for the couple’s first big interview since their engagement took place last night on The Bachelor finale. The happy couple are looking forward to their upcoming wedding, which will be televised as well. When the track record of The Bachelor was brought up, given that many past stars of the series have not gone on to get married despite getting engaged on the finale, Sean said that they’re not paying attention to the other Bachelor relationships and are just focusing on their own. While all the reporters were carefully avoiding the controversial subject of Sean’s born-again virginity, Sean, whose father is an ordained minister, did say that he didn’t have a problem with appearing shirtless or kissing multiple women on the show. He did say, however, that there was one shower scene where “they were playing ’70s porn music in the background” that he felt pretty uncomfortable with.
When asked who he felt would make a great Bachelor next, Sean said, point blank, “I tend to think Jef Holm would make a nice Bachelor. I know he’s a bit controversial, but I think he would make a good Bachelor.” When asked if Emily Maynard, who famously broke his heart during her season of the The Bachelorette, would be invited to the wedding he said, “Probably not. I think the world of Emily, and I want nothing but good things for her, but I don’t think it would be the most appropriate thing to have her at the wedding.”
Sean Lowe was also asked about his religious beliefs and what exactly they were. Sean said he considers himself a Christian and is a member of a non-denominational church and believes in the bible. When asked the same question, Catherine Giudici said she is, “excited to learn more about Christianity and be a believer. That’s something that’s really important to our future and our family.”
When asked why they are interested in televising their wedding, Sean responded that since their relationship started on TV it will be fitting for their wedding to happen on TV as well, but that they’re excited to start a normal life with no cameras around.
One of the last questions was about AshLee, the second to last girl to be sent home. The question referenced AshLee’s controversial remarks on The Women Tell All where she said that Sean told her in the Fantasy Suite that he didn’t have feelings for Catherine or Lindsay. Sean responded graciously, saying, “After [The Women Tell All], I called Catherine and said, ‘It was nice to see everyone, except AshLee hurled a pretty big accusation at me.’ Catherine knows better than to buy into that. I think she understands what I understand, which is that AshLee is a sweet girl, and she has good intentions. I think in the moment she probably heard something that she wanted to hear or misconstrued something that I said, but of course it’s just ridiculous to say that I didn’t have feelings for Catherine or Lindsay because in the moment I did. I had feelings for all three of them.” When Catherine was asked the same uncomfortable question, she said, “I didn’t think it was any sort of truth. I love AshLee, and she seems to remember something that he didn’t. Even hearing it was kind of ludicrous. It doesn’t make sense if he didn’t have feelings for us, as to why he would choose us over her.”
There you have it, folks. We wish the newly couple all the best and look forward to seeing Des on next season of The Bachelorette.
