Prince Albert And Princess Charlène Attend Grace Kelly Exhibit In Toronto

Yesterday marked the opening of the Grace Kelly: From Movie Star to Princess exhibit at the TIFF Lightbox in Toronto, and to mark the occassion Grace Kelly’s son Prince Albert and his new bride Princess Charlène of Monaco attended the event.

Prince Albert told the assembled crowd that his mother “would have been deeply touched, I think, by the tribute that is paid to her.”  The exhibit highlights the life of the beautiful woman who took such a quick path from movie star to princess that she retired from acting at the age of 26.  You can find everything from her vintage couture to her classic Kelly bag,  tiara and jewels to her unforgettable Oscar gown on display.  There are many personal items on display as well, including photographs and high school yearbooks.  Of course they are also playing many of the classic films that made her a star in the first place, from Fourteen Hours and High Noon, to the Alfred Hitchcock classics Dial M For Murder and To Catch A Thief.

The royal couple attended the exhibit first before addressing the crowd and attending a cocktail party.  They walked a red carpet and posed for photographs before departing.

The Exhibit opens to the public on November 4th, and runs until January 22nd.
