Kate and William Set April Wedding Date
It was just last week when word was given that Prince William and Kate Middleton had gotten engaged, and now they’ve set not only a date but a venue as well.
Royal watchers around the world have more than likely marked Friday April 29th, 2011 on their calenders, and thousands of them are sure to gather outside of Westminster Abbey around that date for the celebration. The Abbey was the also the site of the 1947 wedding of the then Princess Elizabeth, William’s grandmother the Queen.
The Royal Family will pay for the church service, the music and parties, but the cost of security will be financed by the British taxpayers. There will be some complaining about that, but the British Prime Minister has officially made the day a public holiday, which would give them a four day weekend since May Day is the following Monday.
On a side note, the palace has all ready begun calling Kate by her full name of Catherine, as it sounds more royal than the short form.
