While you may have used toilet paper in the past to gently remove smudged eyeliner or excess skin cream, it looks like this bathroom staple has found itself a new beauty purpose. If you’re used to curling your hair with a styling iron or hot rollers, you may want to consider strips of toilet paper as your new alternative.

In a hair tutorial which is quickly gaining popularity online, YouTube beauty vlogger Nicole Skyes uses strips of bathroom tissue to create voluminous, curly locks. To achieve the look, Skyes starts by taking sections of toilet paper and winding the paper around separated segments of her hair. She then knots the paper in place, leaves the knotted sections in place overnight, and unties the toilet paper to reveal a head of bouncy curls.

While Skyes’ easy heatless curls are an enviable sight, we’re wondering if the trend of toilet paper curls will eventually catch on among her fellow beauty gurus. In the meantime, it’s unlikely that hairstyling addicts will be dropping their trusted curling irons anytime soon. However, Skyes’ hair tutorial does prove that the beauty uses of that humble roll of bathroom tissue are truly endless!
