While we have all heard of art imitating life, few art enthusiasts and gallery visitors have thought of art coming to life underneath their very noses (or perhaps on their own heads!) However, Kansas-based hair colourist Ursula Goff is combining the worlds of art and beauty as she recreates famous paintings and turns them into real life masterpieces on her clients’ hair.

From Vincent van Gogh’s The Starry Night to The Scream by Edvard Munch, the results are mesmerizing. Goff has managed to artfully combine shades, which include a blend of brilliant orange and yellow hues and rich teal and violet undertones for a dramatic new do.

In one of her captions on her Facebook post, Goff explains her passion for art from a young age and her inspiration for creating these innovative hairstyles.  “I have done art since I was 5, first developing hand skills as a sketcher, and then expanding those skills into color by working with acrylics, tempera, and especially water colors. I tend to color hair much the same way I color a canvas, using the same sorts of color application techniques and identical color theory. So in honor of my art background being so useful, I thought I’d do a Fine Art series.”

For beauty lovers looking to give their blonde and brunette locks a new colourful edge, these art inspired hair looks may be worth a try for a striking statement. Here is a closer look at the emerging hair looks which have quickly been taking social media by storm.
