The rumours are true! H&M confirmed the big fashion news that started breaking yesterday. Lanvin will be the latest designer collaboration at H&M this fall.
Following in the footsteps of many fashion designers, including Karl Lagerfeld, Jimmy Choo and Stella McCartney, the Lanvin H&M collection will be revealed on November 2. The first images will be seen in a film on the H&M website. The clothes will then hit shelves on November 23. If you want a piece you should be waiting in line when the doors open, because we know this line isn’t going to last long in stores.
In a press release, Alber Elbaz, artistic director of Lanvin, said, “H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less. I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public. This has been an exceptional exercise, where two companies at opposite poles can work together because we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world.”
Lanvin has been one of the most exciting European fashion lines to watch over the past few years. Under Alber Elbaz’ direction, Lanvin has been on the cusp of all the hottest trends every season. It will be exciting to see how they can bring the luxurious fall trends from their line into H&M.
See the preview video of Alber Elbaz talk about the line here:

Now we will wait and see if this dream becomes a reality. (Style.com)

All of the fashion world is buzzing over the new Chanel ad campaign featuring plus-size model Crystal Renn. The first peak of Crystal Renn starring in the campaign for the reopening of the Chanel Soho store were released today.
It wasn’t that long ago that Karl Lagerfeld said “no one wants to see round women.” The fact that he has now hired Crystal for the Chanel ads is a big coup for the model. She also walked in the Chanel resort show in Saint Tropez in May.
For the past few months as the fashion weight debate heated up, Crystal Renn has been in fashion news headlines often. Not only is she a role model for other plus size models because of her personal struggle, but she also never shies away from taking the spotlight on runways around the world and in spread in V Magazine.
In the Chanel ads, the focus is off of Crystal’s size and sticks to her beautiful face. Fashion news sources say Crystal Renn and male model Baptiste Giabiconi shot the black and white ads in Paris with Karl Lagerfeld.
Madonna is making fashion news headlines this week for being sued over her Material Girl fashion line. Everyone in the fashion world has been talking about Madonna’s junior clothing line since it was announced.
On Thursday, apparel creator LA Triumph went to court claiming they’ve been using the Material Girl name since 1997. They say their clothes and prices are similar to Madonna’s and she doesn’t have the right to use the same name. No one from Madonna’s camp has commented on the lawsuit yet.
In related news the face of Madonna’s Material Girl girl clothing Taylor Momsen is making fashion news headlines of her own. In a recent interview for Spin Magazine the 16 year old singer/actress spoke out about her sometimes criticized style, while she herself classified her style as “high-class hooker.” She nevertheless said that her clothes make her comfortable and anyone who thinks it’s uncomfortable to look at her is a “scumbag.” (No comment!!)
Taylor is also particularly annoyed with another singer who has some serious style. Taylor Momsen blasted Rihanna for trying to blur the lines between pop and rock in her style and music. She said, “People think pop is rock, and the lines are getting blurred. Now Rihanna‘s wearing f– leather jackets, and it’s really annoying.”
Leather jackets are exclusive to rock culture? Unless one has been hiding under a rock for the last few seasons, black leather jackets have been a staple in almost every designer and diffusion line collection. Which means everyone and their grandma is wearing one. Taylor Momsen must be walking around pretty mad most of the time at the annoyance of it all! Maybe that explains her hard edge look and attitude.
