Matthew McConaughy is known for being a rough and tumble outdoorsy guy. Dolce & Gabbana have swapped the surfboard for a tuxedo and turned the actor into the face of their new men’s fragrance.

Matthew McConaughey cleans up nicely in the new ads for Dolce & Gabbana’s The One Gentleman fragrance. The new men’s scent is a follow up to the The One For Men fragrance.

When asked to describe The One Gentleman McConaughy said, ”A gentleman has respect for himself, that is the basis of his respect and consideration for others… He has a strength and grace that translates into how he moves, how he makes a decision, or even how he holds himself still and says nothing at all.” (That smooth talking is probably how he got the role for D&G)

The ads will be officially released in October, the same time as the fragrance.

Britney Spears’ Fragrance Ad

Britney SpearsBritney Spears is launching yet another fragrance to add to her ever growing repitoire of beauty products. The ad for the Britney Spears Radiance fragrance hit the web yesterday to great reviews by critics.

Everyone agrees that Britney Spears looks terrific in the 30 second ad.

This will be Britney’s ninth fragrance in the beauty aisle. Her trip into the fragrance world started back in 2004 with Curious. Since that time there has been a new Britney Spear fragrance ever year, and two some years. Even that time when Britney wasn’t doing so good, the machine behind her still managed to pump out beauty products.

Radiance is ready to be released in September. You can get the perfume at The Bay, Sears and Shopper’s Drug Mart when it launches or preorder it online for $59.00. The fragrance is said to smell like berries and flowers, but you will have to wait a little longer to smell for yourself.

Chanel Reveals Martin Scorsese Fragrance Ad

Chanel brought in the big guns for their Bleu de Chanel fragrance commcercial. Director Martin Scorsese shot the minute long Chanel ad starring Hannibal Rising actor Gaspard Ulliel.

The ad from Chanel is all about doing the unexpected and living outside of the lines. The minute whizzes by in Martin Scorsese’s typical fast-paced, action packed style. This is the first major men’s fragrance for Chanel in years, so it’s not suprising to see they have put it all on the table to impress.

Gucci Guilty Fragrance Ad Preview

gucci fragrance ad 2We showed you the hot new ads from Evan Rachel Wood and Chris Evans for the Gucci Guilty fragrance last week. Now a preview has been released for the highly anticipated fragrance commercial.

We finally get our first glimpse at what director Frank Miller can do with a fragrance ad and two hot stars. This might be the first time we have ever heard of a preview for a commercial, but this one will probably be worth it.

The question is, will all of this promotion pay off for Gucci once Guilty hits shelves? We don’t know, but we are sure that Evan Rachel Wood and Chris Evans will steam up the screen in this commercial.

The full commercial will debut on September 12th at the MTV Video Awards. We can’t wait. See the preview here:

Khloe Kardashian Launching Fragrance

Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Khloe Kardashian and Kourtney KardashianAs if the Kardashians aren’t busy enough, Khloe Kardashian is taking after her sister and launching her own fragrance.

Kim Kardashian already has one best-selling celebrity fragrance and another on the way. Now sister Khloe Kardashian wants to get her name in the beauty aisles too. WWD reports Khloe Kardashian and her hubbie Lamar Odom are collaborating with Lighthouse Beauty to create their own signature scent.

The celebrity couple are working to create a unisex fragrance with the same companies that created Kim’s perfumes. They hinted that the name may be Unbreakable, but wouldn’t confirm anything yet.

The new Kardashian fragrance is scheduled to launch in February. We’ll have more news about the scent, including what it smells like, as we get closer to the release date.

Estee Lauder is launching their new Sensuous Noir fragrance for fall. This is a new take on the Estee Lauder Sensuous fragrance that was launched back in 2008. In a press release Estee Lauder says this new fragrance is richer and more intense than the original. They have added scents like spiced lily, patchouli and black pepper to intensify the smell. Expect the new fall fragrance on shelves in September.

Origins has introduced a new moisturizer which they claim will keep you from having to spend thousands on cosmetic surgery. The new Brighter By Nature SPF 35 Skin Tone Correcting Moisturizer claims to be able to fade dark spots, redness and other skin afflictions caused from overexposure to the elements. Thanks to the sunscreen, it also claims to protect your skin from further harm. They say in just four weeks your skin will look better. You can try it out later this month to see if it works. The Body Shop is adding hair care to their list of eco-friendly products. The new Body Shop Rainforest Hair Care collection contains pracaxi oil a product beauty news stories say is 100% natural, bio-degradable, organic and non-irritating. The Body Shop products are also said to break down in water and the bottles made of recycleable material. All in all this is one hair care product that is really good for the environment!

Evan Rachel Wood and Chris Evans can be seen wearing practically nothing at all in a hot embrace for the new Gucci Guilty fragrance. This is the first fragrance ads for both of the celebrities. From the looks of these photos, they felt right at home. We can’t wait to see the full commercial they announced last month.

Evan Rachel Wood has always had a saucy side of her personality from being on True Blood to her engagement to Marilyn Manson.

It’s the sexy passionate side from Chris Evans that surprised us. We didn’t expect this from Captain America. We could get used to this side of him!

Fungus Fragrance

The Jo Malone Oud & Bergamot Cologne Intense fragrance launched last month using the curious ingredient oud.

Oud is a liquid that comes from the trunk of infected Aquilaria tree. They take the infected wood and extract the oud for the fragrance industry. The Aquila tree is found in certain parts of Asia. Tree fungus isn’t the first thing we would have thought of to put in a perfume.

The most amazing part about the oud fragrance ingredient is its price. This beauty news story out of the UK revealed that oud is the most expensive raw ingredient in the industry. It can cost up almost $5,000 for 12 ounces.

It seems that for a piece of infected plant that is outrageous, but so is the price of fungus like truffle but yet it’s called the “diamond of the kitchen” in the cooking industry.

Avril Lavigne’s New Fragrance

Avril lavigne fragranceIn just a short while, the world will once again be able to capture the scent of Canadian pop star Avril Lavigne. Avril’s new fragrance, Forbidden Rose, will hit Kohl’s stores very soon.

Images of the new fragrance show that Avril Lavigne has definitely added her persona to the packaging. The purple fragrance comes in a star shaped glass bottle with a black rose top and barbed wire trim. It will instantly appeal to all of Avril Lavigne’s young ‘edgy’ fan girls. The fragrance is described as a more mature fruity smell.

Avril Lavigne says in interviews that she was very involved with the process of the fragrance right down to the imaging and font on the packaging.

This will be Avril’s second celebrity fragrance. Her first fragrance, Black Star, was released back in 2009.

Early fragrance news stories describe the scent as jasmine, sandalwood and vanilla. S by Shakira will be on sale in September in 15,000 retailers around the world. Shakira will also be promoting the new fragrance on her North American tour this fall.

Gerard Butler has signed on to be a L’Oreal spokesman. Gerard Butler will be the man for the L’Oreal Paris Men’s Expert. If ladies in North America are excited about seeing Gerard Butler’s Scottish accent and body for the beauty brand, don’t get your hopes up. The L’Oreal deal with Gerard Butler actually excludes the US. We are still waiting to see if the US gets its own hunky spokesman.

Ultraflesh will debut it’s new mascara Panthera at Sephora on October 1. The new mascara has a lid shaped like a Panther and is claiming to be “the holy grail” of mascaras. The rest of the new Ultraflesh makeup line will launch at Sephora in spring 2011. For now you will have to just live with the mascara, which will cost $26.00.

Fragrance Beauty News: Anna Dello Russo, Dior & Beyonce

anna dello russo fragranceVogue Japan editor Anna Dello Russo’s new fragrance Beyond will be on shelves in time for Christmas. The fashion news editor announced on her blog that the Beyond fragrance will be on sale in a unique little golden shoe bottle in time for girls to get it in their stockings. There is also an ad for the vanilla fragrance that shows off the golden bottle in all its girly glory.

We told you before that Natalie Portman was the new face of Dior fragrances, now beauty news sites have uncovered that Natalie is filming the first commercial for Dior fragrances in Paris with director Sofia Coppola. Sofia Coppola directed the previous ad for the Dior Miss Dior Cherie fragrance, so it’s not surprising they returned to her.

Beyonce is launching another celebrity fragrance. This time Beyonce’s Ultimate Elixir will be tempting fragrance fans. Beyonce Heat Ultimate Elixir is a spin on her original fragrance. Beauty news stories say the new fragrance will be more ‘intimate’ than the punchy scent of Heat. The new Beyonce fragrance will be in stores in September.
