Marvel has done amazing things with their franchises at the movies, but that success hasn’t always translated to the small screen. That could change with The Gifted, though, as fans love the X-Men movies and seem will- ing to watch anything with a mutant in it. Still without Wolverine, Mystique or even Pro- fessor X, the series might crash and burn as quickly as you can say Agent Carter.

This series is one of several new shows revolving around the mili- tary. This one stars David Boreanaz, Max Thieriot and Jessica Paré as part of a team of elite Navy SEALs. Other series to keep an eye on with similar themes are Valor and The Brave.
Dynasty
Fall TV season is about to begin, and for fans of the small screen there’s no better time of the year to get excited. This year there is an added bonus for longtime viewers, because some of their old favourites are returning.
Dynasty ran for nine seasons,
and was part of the prime-time soap opera scene of the 1980s, and now it’s getting the reboot treatment. It still follows the same basic plotline revolving around two warring wealthy families, but that’s where the similarities will end. One of its rival series from the ’80s, Dallas, tried a similar reboot a few years ago, but it wasn’t able to nd its footing. It will be interesting to see if Dynasty will be able to do any better.
Sometimes bringing back an old formula TV series works. Look at
the success of last year’s X-Files or this year’s Twin Peaks, for example. This year, after a lot of talk, Debra Messing and Eric McCormack are back as Will & Grace. The series ran from 1998 to 2006, and ever since they went out on top, there has been a huge demand for more. Fans are nally getting their wish, and then some. Not only will the show be back this fall for 12 new episodes, but they’ve already been renewed for a second season.

Young Sheldon
Sheldon Cooper of The Big Bang Theory is getting a spin-off—well, sort of. This fall Young Sheldon, will follow the life of the genius before he met Leonard, Raj and the rest of the gang. Only time will tell if this series will have the longevity of Big Bang or not, but Sheldon fans will certainly tune in for the start.
