While she’s widely recognized for her long blond locks and statuesque proportions, Molly Sims is far more than an all- American beauty. The Kentucky-born model rst rose to fame during the 1990s, and quickly became known for her all- American look. Since then, Sims has evolved into an actress, entrepreneur and busy mother of three, having just welcomed her infant son Grey Douglas with Hollywood lm producer Scott Stuber in January.
The former star of the NBC drama series Las Vegas, Sims famously strut the catwalk for Victoria’s Secret and has been a Sports Illustrated cover
girl. While her recent journey into motherhood may have seen her step away from the international runways and the glare of the spotlight, Sims has maintained her reputation as a trendsetter and humanitarian. Today, Sims runs her own fashion and lifestyle website
(mollysims.com), and is also a celebrity ambassador for Population Services International’s Five & Alive and Operation Smile.
Real Style had a chance to catch up with the supermodel turned role model who talked about her turn on the catwalks, her Hol- lywood life and how she manages it all with grace, passion and a hefty dose of style.
Real Style: You recently had your third child, Grey Douglas. How has motherhood changed you?
Molly Sims: Motherhood has changed me in so many ways. It’s taught me to be sel ess and to always count my blessings. I am the happiest I’ve been in my entire life! Yes, there are hard parts of motherhood, like the fact that I haven’t gotten a good night’s sleep for years, but it’s all worth it.
RS: How do you balance it all, being a mom and having a professional life in the spotlight?
MS: I’ve always believed in the whole “work hard, play hard” mantra. When I’m working, I’m all work. When I’m with my family, it’s all about them. Before I became a mom, I was al- ways travelling for work. Now, I’m able to pick and choose the
jobs I want to take or the events I want to go to. I don’t feel as guilty.
I think at the end of the day it’s about your individual priorities. In my opinion, there’s
nothing wrong with having a successful and busy career as a mom. Luckily, I’m able to be home working on my blog and YouTube channel, which I include my kids in. They love shooting the videos with me and it has become something we enjoy doing together. I’ll admit—it’s easy to miss the whole jet-set lifestyle sometimes, but at home with my family is where I ultimately want to be.
RS: You’re known for your charitable work as well. What inspires you to support your various causes?
MS: Philanthropy has always been a big priority for me but even more so when I became a mom. I think it’s so important to show your kids from a young age what it means to give back.
Baby2Baby, the charity I work the closest with, has become a part of our family. Every Christmas, Scott and I take the kids to give gifts to children in need. Brooks is old enough now to know what it means and I can tell he really enjoys it. Then every summer, Rachel
