This Wednesday, the REV Fashion Show is set to take place in Toronto at NEST at 423 College Street. The alternative arts and fashion showcase runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., and will feature collections from nine local designers in a creative setting. These emerging names include SLM, Pink City, Lotus & Bay, Grayce + Gordon, Only One Clothing, Archipelago, Elle Mair, 26 Divided, and Lesley Hampton.

In collaboration with the DAREarts Foundation, 50 percent of the sales from the event will benefit the foundation, with the other 50 percent going to George Brown College Scholarships.

As part of REV, fashion label Grayce + Gordon is set to display their collection of unisex designs. The label, which features androgynous styles that also aim to be functional, claims to produce handmade pieces created with Canadian sourced materials.

The line-up of featured designers also includes accessory line Lotus and Bay Jewellery, which draws inspiration from the Earth. Designer Tori Lovegrove channels the beauty of nature, using elements such as raw crystals in her creations.

For anyone looking for a new swimsuit, Toronto-based swimwear line Archipelago will be unveiling their latest designs as well. Meanwhile, designer Elle Mair is set to show bohemian chic wares from her recycled clothing label, which features flowing kimonos and scarves.

Arts enthusiasts can also check out emerging talent, with a selection of dancers, musicians and artists expected to complete the evening. As part of the festivities, 21-year-old emerging singer-songwriter Maddy Sleigh will be performing. Born in Ottawa and based in Toronto, Sleigh is known for mixing the tunes of indie-pop and soul to produce a unique sound. Markham-based alternative-electronic band The Underneath (which consists of members Matthew Bundas, Brian MacKay and Christopher Paul) is also expected to make an appearance,

Along with the creativity in the air, REV visitors can sip drinks or munch on appetizers as they take in the fashion and art. Tickets are $15 for students and $20 for general admission, and are available online at revfashionshow.com.
