We all love to get a good deal on the hottest fashion trends, but a study came out of the UK today warning women not to buy counterfeit UGGS. The imitation UGGS may be fashionable, but doctors have found that these cheap shoes are actually harming your feet.
Doctors warn that couterfeit UGGS could cause foot deformities, back ache and pain in the feet. This is all due to poor foot support. Your feet slide around in the shoes causing your foot arch to flatten and wear on your joints from having to walk awkwardly.
The original UGGS start at around $140 for the classic short boot. The boots are hugely popular with young girls, spawning a market of imitation UGGS boots that these teens can afford. Doctors are warning parents to not allow developing girls to wear the imitation UGGS for too long.
By dictionary definition, counterfeit is something ”made in imitation so as to be passed off fraudulently or deceptively as genuine.” These are the shoes that are trying to be passed off as real UGGS and not to be mistaken as potential quality versions of the same boot style by another footwear maker.
The fashion industry is also fighting back against the rise in counterfeit merchandise. This week Burberry fileda lawsuit against TJX Co (the company that owns TJ Maxx) for selling counterfeits and Coach filed a suit against Kmart Corp. Fendi won two separate counterfeiting lawsuits in less than a month.

Jimmy Choo and UGG Australia announced this week that the shoe companies will be teaming up to make a line together. The Guardian reported that they are confused over what the furry boot and stiletto companies can come up with together. They say they will be making five styles and prices will start at around $830 Canadian. There is no release date yet.
More news has been released about Stella McCartney’s Alice In Wonderland collection for Disney. It was announced that Stella McCartney will be creating a costume jewelry line for the movie release. WWD revealed that the line will include a rabbit, the Mad Hatter’s hat, a pearl, a spade, a club, a heart and diamond charms made of Plexiglass and Swarovski crystals.
Beyonce announced that she is taking her Dereon clothing line to the video game world. Style Savvy is a game for the Nintendo DS and DSi that lets players own a virtual boutique. USA Today reports that Nintendo has revealed piece from the Dereon line will be available in the game. Beyonce says the game will teach young girls about business and responsibility.
