Last night the best in television was honoured at the Emmy Awards. We know the show is just as much about the fashion as the awards, so here are the style winners and losers.
Glee may have been robbed of their best comedy award, but the Glee stars were all winners for their red carpet fashion. Lea Michele was named best dressed by People Magazine for her blue ruffled Oscar de la Renta gown. Jayma Mays wowed in a strapless blue Burberry gown putting her on the Glamour best dressed list. Emmy winner Jane Lynch gave her celebrity style some glamour in a plum one-shoulder gown by Ali Rahimi.
During the awards, Twitter was buzzing over Kelly Osborne’s Emmy fashion. She showed off her trim figure in a black Tony Ward couture gown. Others showing off curves included Eva Longoria in a black strapless gown from Robert Rodriguez and, of course, Christina Henricks with a lilac feather Zac Posen gown.
Sparkles returned to the red carpet with a vengeance. Temple Grandin Emmy winner Claire Danes sparkled in an Armani Prive gown covered in Swarovski crystals putting her on the best dressed list. Julianna Marguilies wore a sparkling black gown from L’Wren Scott. Susan Sarandon is on many best dressed lists in her black sparkling off shoulder Donna Karan gown.
Some actresses took risks with their red carpet fashion. Everyone was talking about January Jones’ blue Versace gown, putting this usually fashionable star on the worst dressed lists. True Blood star Anna Paquin wore an embellished Alexander McQueen with gold shoulders. You never know what Tina Fey will wear and this year she chose a silk black and grey Oscar de la Renta gown that had the critics split.
So who was best dressed in the heart of Real Style Network? We loved Kim Kardashian’s white Marchesa gown, Lea Michele’s Oscar de la Renta and Claire Danes’s sparkling gown.

January Jones is wearing a terrible blue Versace gown. She does not look good in it. The dress looks like it’s wearing her! The web is exploding with negative comments about January Jones’ Emmy outfit and even about her. Esquire magazine went as far as saying
January Jones on every network:drunk
Other commentators from the Red Carpet at The Emmy’s have already put her on the worst dressed list at the Emmys. Poor January Jones, maybe the stylist from Mad Men should be dressing her for the Red Carpets!

It’s the Emmy awards this weekend and as much as the awards are about the Best in Television, it’s also about the best dressed women on The Red Carpet! Mad Men’s star Christina Hendricks is sure to be on the Emmy’s best dressed list with her fiery red hair and knock out curves. We thought of a few gorgeous gowns she might like to have worn on the Red Carpet at the Emmys. Now just to sit back and see what she actually wears and then we’ll decide if we liked hers or ours!
This black Sue Wong Beaded Gown ($375.00) has that retro feel that is so big in fashion right now. The sequined and beaded look of this dress screams Glam! The lines on this dress would show off Christina’s curves while the deep v-back shows off some skin.
Gold is classic Hollywood. This Aiden Mattox One Shoulder Silk Charmeuse Gown ($393.17) is perfect to bring that old Hollywood glamour back to the Emmy’s. The draped silhouette of this red carpet gown is a timeless look. We can just as easily see this dress on Christina Hendrick’s as the starlets of the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s.
To pop on the Emmy’s red carpet, this Sue Wong One Shoulder Gown ($371.00) in the jewel tone blue is perfect for Christina Hendricks. The rich blue will bring out her red hair and the form fitting shape will show all her curves.

Last night young Hollywood lit up the red carpet with their celebrity style at the Teen Choice Awards. These starlets did not disappoint in their red carpet fashion.
The theme of the red carpet fashion for the night was short little mini cocktail dresses in every colour and style. Most of the celebrities at the Teen Choice Awards celebrated the summer by infusing some colour into their clothing.
Hilary Duff who won Female Scene Stealer for her appearance on Gossip Girl showed off her curves in an aqua Herve Leger bandage dress. Glee star Lea Michele also choice a green shade with her Naeem Khan mini dress and nude platform sandals.
Twilight star Ashley Greene looked pretty in pink with her strapless Valentino dress and Ferragamo heels. Gossip Girl narrator Kristen Bell was bright in a red lace Stella McCartney dress.
A few celebrities chose with neutral colours. Winner for Choice TV Actress: Drama, Leighton Meester looked lovely in her white Emilio Pucci dress and Christian Louboutin heels. Kim Kardashian’s choice was a black Zuhair Murad one shoulder dress.
While some bloggers felt that a few of the celebrities could have boosted up the fashion factor, there were no fashion disasters on the Teen Choice Awards red carpet.

Last night Twilight fever peaked to an all time high at the Los Angeles premiere of Twilight Eclipse. The whole cast of Twilight Eclipse, including Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, walked the red carpet in their best celebrity style to promote the summer blockbuster movie.
The main trio of Edward, Bella and Jacob looked great together on the red carpet. Kristen Stewart wore a white one sleeve embroidered wool mini dress from Elie Saab and nude Christian Louboutin pumps. Taylor Launter chose a traditional grey suit. Robert Pattinson brightened things up by wearing a blood red suit.
The rest of the vampiress ladies showed off their own celebrity style in a range of gowns and dresses fit for the red carpet.
Dakota Fanning also wore an Elie Saab dress to the Twilight Eclipse premiere. Dakota Fanning’s dress was a nude one shoulder lace dress with a feather hem. Also wearing feathers was Nikki Reed in a blue feathered Marchesa dress. Newcomer to Twilight, Bryce Dallas Howard wore a yellow Dior gown accessorized with Bulgari jewels. Ashley Greene wore a strapless grey Grecian-style Alexis Mabille gown.
Twilight Eclipse will hit theatres for the rest of us on June 30th.

Last night in Toronto the stars walked the red carpet for the MMVA’s. The fashion was short and sexy for the ladies and trendy casual for the guys.
Katy Perry is never one to disappoint on the red carpet and the MMVA’s were no different. Last night Katy Perry wore a sparkling blue one-shoulder mini dress which was tied up the side leaving lots of cut outs, at least this time around there was no electronics involved.
Gossip Girl’s Jessica Szohr wore a tangerine Jenny Packham mini dress accessorized with a bright yellow clutch. Whitney Port was colourful in a printed strapless mini.
MMVA host Miley Cyrus had numerous outfits and dresses, but it is this cut-out halter top and short shorts from her performance that everyone is talking about today. As we said before, Miley Cyrus has grown up fast.
The MMVA’s were all about one thing… Justin Bieber! Justin Bieber showed off his own celebrity style on the red carpet. In a grey blazer and aqua jeans, Justin Bieber had all of the girls screaming his name, but really he could have worn absolutely anything and would get the same reactions from the screaming pre-teens.

In today’s fashion and entertainment news, Cannes Films Festival 2010 comes to an end . Which means an end to all of the red carpet celebrity style looks we have been seeing. This year in Cannes, the celebrity style and the major fashion show that film festivals have become, was pretty breathtaking. Here’s a quick summary of some of the head turning and buzz making celebrity style fashions from the last 12 days.
The biggest fashion news from the red carpet at Cannes was the debut of Gucci Premiere gowns. We told you here how Salma Hayek wore the first custom gown on the red carpet from the new Gucci line. This couture fashion line has become a celebrity favourite after only days in the fashion world. Kate Beckinsale also got a chance to wear a Gucci Premiere gown at Cannes. Her off white and silver off the shoulder gown (pictured) was softly draped and featured sequin embelishments . Naomi Watts also wore a pink strapless gown from Gucci Premiere.
Eva Longoria Parker also sparkled at Cannes. In the above photo she wore a short sequined Elie Saab one shoulder gown to an after party for Robin Hood.
Robin Hood’s star Cate Blanchett got a lot of attention during Cannes for her celebrity style. We loved her Armani Prive skirt suit at the red carpet premiere here. She also wore this voluminous Alexander McQueen gown that had all fashion writers in love.
Never one to shy away from fashion, Naomi Campbell hit the Cannes red carpet showing off her celebrity style in a sheer black gown from Givenchy.
Other gorgeous looks from the Cannes Film Festival red carpets included: Marion Cotillard in a black sequined LeFranc Ferrant jumpsuit, Jennifer Hudson in a jewel-toned blue Alexander McQueen dress, and Camilla Belle in a gunmetal Gucci dress.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala Benefit or as it’s known ,The Met Gala always generates a great deal of buzz. This year it had even more because it is celebrating the American woman in the exhibition at the Museum. The exhibit is called - The American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity. Stars lined the red carpet in droves wearing stunning gowns for an event called Oscars East and definitely one of the biggest nights of fashion.
And what a fashion show it was! The Red Carpet gowns at the 2010 Met Gala fashion were exquisite. Almost all of the celebrities in attendance were crowned on a best dressed list somewhere. Young Hollywood showed their fashion sense with some stunning gowns. Glamour voted Harry Potter star Emma Watson one of the best dressed of the night in her white Burberry gown. Gossip Girl’s Jessica Szohr also made the list in a nude and black lace Versace gown. Sienna Miller had everyone talking, not only for her low cut blue Emilio Pucci dress which was one of Elle’s best dressed of the night, but also because she arrived with Jude Law.
Metallics and sparkles were also a popular choice for the 2010 Met Gala Red Carpet. Jennifer Lopez rarely disappoints in choosing an elegant red carpet fashion. She wore a sparkling strapless Zuhair Murad Haute Couture. Some named Kate Moss best dressed for her short gold Marc Jacobs dress. Nicole Richie shimmered in a silver Marc Jacobs dress. Claire Danes looks stunning in her strapless metallic lace Burberry dress. Anne Hathaway’s nude Valentino gown and Bulgari jewels shined on the red carpet.
White was a popular colour. Jessica Biel and Taylor Swift both chose white Ralph Lauren Collection gowns. Diane Krueger wore a white Calvin Klein.
One of the wildest dresses on the red carpet may not make any best dressed lists, but will definiately have people talking today. Singer Kate Perry arrived at the Met Gala in a floor length glow in the dark gown worthy of Lady Gaga.
Real Style Network’s favourite red carpet fashion from the 2010 Met Gala include Emma Watson and Jessica Szohr. We also loved Jessica Alba’s 30’s style Sophie Theallet for Gap dress and Demi Moore in her strapless silver Lanvin.

Wow, the Oscars have become as much about the fashion as they are about the movies. After ending up on many of the ‘worst dressed’ for the Oscars fashion lists ,actress Charlize Theron felt that she had to defend her choice of the much criticized Christian Dior Oscar gown .
When asked about the dress by US Magazine Charlize Theron had only one thing to say: “I just loved this dress!”
Despite her love for the strapless purple Dior gown fashion critics and bloggers didn’t offer her any sympathy. E Online said: Yep, those are her lady lumps wrapped in lilac rosettes, courtesy of Dior Haute Couture. This one’s going down in the history books… The Vancouver Sun said: There will lots of giggling in the week to come at Charlize Theron, whose Dior gown had rosettes on the breasts bordering on the burlesque.
While Charlize Theron’s red carpet Dior gown wasn’t on our best dressed list, it is not the worst gown we have seen. The critics should lighten up.
