FAT 2013 Night 3 and 4 Recap

On the first two nights of FAT we saw some great menswear from Kollar Clothing and plenty of plaid from Wani By Saki. By the third and fourth night of FAT we saw a variety of designers including Myles Sexton’s jewelry line and House of Diehl, a company based out of New York City that designs live on the runway using unique materials. The level of talent we’ve seen from these smaller labels was very impressive and makes us proud to be a part of the Canadian fashion scene.

FAT, which stands for ‘fashion, art, Toronto’ is a five day event celebrating up and coming fashion designers with runway presentations, live performances from Toronto’s art scene and photography exhibits and art installations. The best thing about FAT is the variety of fashion, from menswear, lingerie, bridal, avant-garde and contemporary wear, it’s all on one runway and with the amount of talent we’ve seen, we’re sure that these names will be taking over the Canadian fashion scene shortly.

White Cashmere Collection Celebrating 10th Anniversary With Blowout Show

The White Cashmere Collection is celebrating their 10th anniversary this year with a blowout show featuring more designers than ever creating gowns in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. For 10 years, the White Cashmere Collection has gathered some of Canada’s top fashion talents to design stunning gowns made entirely out of Cashmere bathroom tissue.

Target has announced that in celebration of coming to Canada they will be teaming up with the Toronto Fashion Incubator to give an emerging Canadian designer the change to sell at Canadian Target stores in 2014. The lucky designer will be the winner of the annual TFI New Labels competition. This is a huge prize for the lucky designer and a big coo for Canadian fashion that Target is willing to work with our designers to help them gain popularity.
