Art Gallery Of Hamilton is one of those hidden Ontario gems that is worth the one hour drive from Toronto. A perfect weekend day trip.<\/p>\n

We loved the fabulous permanent collection pieces on display on the 2nd floor. While displaying just a smidgen of the 10,000 works of art in the collection- the exhibits showed an interesting and well curated selection of art spanning from 19th century to 21st contemporary.<\/p>\n

The Art Gallery Of Hamilton also houses one of the largest art collections of the much beloved and maligned Canadian Indigenous artists – Norval Morrisseau.

One of the visitor\u2019s favourites was this fun and fabulous exhibit by the Canadian artist- Kim Adams.<\/p>\n

It looks like life sized lego sculpture, except encompassing an old bus and a multitude of toys and other materials. The futuristic diorama made for a thoughtful allegory and exploration of modern city living.<\/p>\n

Therefore, next time you are looking for a fun day excursion. Head over to Hamilton – visit the Royal Botannical Gardens, the Dundurn castle and of course the Art Gallery Of Hamilton.<\/p>\n
