Run by the Ontario Power Generation, this festival will put your neighbour\u2019s Christmas lights to shame. The Winter Festival of Lights features an eight kilometre long illumination trail through the town. With over 3 million sparkling, colourful LED lights, it\u2019s no surprise that this event consistently ranks among the top Christmas events in Canada. Weekly firework presentations and daily laser light shows enhance the regular programming of light sculptures in the shape of snowflakes, reindeer and other seasonal icons. With the waterfalls partially frozen over and surrounded by banks of snow, the landmark looks every bit the winter wonderland. With chilling mist rising from the waterfalls, bundling up is an essential, as is a stop to one of the many coffee shops that surround the site.
