Photo: celeboflight on Instagram

Vancouver is among Canada’s densest, most ethnically diverse cities. Surrounded by mountains and beautiful scenery, there is tons to do and see. From festivals, to concerts, to whale watching, there is something for everyone to do this summer in Vancouver. Take a look at our top four events to take part in this summer:

1) Celebration of Light: Known as Vancouver’s signature summer event- the Celebration of Light is the city’s annual free fireworks tradition. The event is held each year at the end of July, beginning of August. Located at English Bay, the competition begins at 10:00 p.m. each night rain or shine. This year the dates for the show include July 23, July 27, and July 30th. Prior to each firework show, some of Canada’s top musical acts will be performing starting at 7:30 p.m. Some of the acts include Willa, Loverboy, and Lovecoast. The actual firework show is a competition between three companies representing their country, performing a 25 minute firework display accompanying music. This competition has been noted as the longest-running offshore fireworks competition in the world.

2) 23rd Annual Enchanted Evenings Concert Series: For those who enjoy live music and gourmet food, this is the place to be. This summer, the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden becomes one of the cities greatest concert venues. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. for guests to take pleasure in the breathtaking garden and enjoy deluxe picnic dinners. Concerts will run from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Costs for each show varies.
