By: Emmy Gnat

If you’re visiting Toronto, the classic tourist checklist of course includes a trip to the CN Tower, the ROM, and Casa Loma. However, let’s not neglect the importance of food in The Six. With its diverse cultures, Toronto brings a variety of foods to its people and a trip would be incomplete without tasting all this city has to offer. Here are a few notable tourist restaurants to visit while you’re in town.

Chill Ice House

One of the top and most unique bars in Toronto, CHILL Ice House puts your Canadian winter tolerance to the test with their -5 chamber of ice. Upon arrival you receive a complimentary parka. Once the door opens, the dazzling blue light that is reflected off the all ice kingdom engulfs you. The interior is decorated with ice sculptures done by local artists. If you really can’t take the cold, there’s a warmed up bar at the back – but I mean don’t you want the street cred to say you made it through?

Photo: chillicehouse on Instagram

360 Restaurant

Hopefully your view from across the table is not too distracting, because you won’t want to miss the 360-degree tour of Toronto. The award-winning restaurant serves up authentic Canadian dishes with local ingredients to give visitors an authentic Canadian experience. Some may be concerned that a revolving restaurant would be nauseating and completely unappetizing, but here it is hardly noticeable and the highlight of the meal. If you have a long distant significant other coming in, this the perfect (and warmest) way to show them all of Toronto.

Photo: cntower on Instagram

Momofuku

David Chang brings his world-class culinary expertise to the Shangri-La Hotel. The communal wood tables set a casual yet sophisticated atmosphere. In the heart of downtown Toronto, this restaurant is constantly turning over tables. Come for a quick pork bun snack or stay for some of Toronto’s best ramen noodles. Try out the eight course-tasting menu selected specially by the chef. With the constantly evolving menu, you’ll never get bored of the dishes. Don’t forget to make your way upstairs to the Milk Bar at the end of the night, for some birthday cake truffles and the famous crack pie.

Photo: momolongplay on Instagram
