For art lovers looking for a little taste of culture to show their appreciation for the arts and expand their artistic palette, Toronto is sprawling with new and innovative exhibits this year held at some of the city’s top galleries. From historic Chinese doors to majestic glass sculptures, here are Toronto’s\u00a0must-see art exhibits to check out this year.<\/p>\n

1) SuperReal: Pop Art From The AGO Collection<\/strong>: Pop art emerged in the 1960s from the rising of a consumer culture after WWII, questioning the impact of mass culture and our materialistic needs by reproducing everyday objects in a larger scale and unusual aesthetics. Now, the Art Gallery of Ontario has brought pop art back with three original displays from the 60s featuring Claes Oldenburg\u2019s Floor Burger, Andy Warhol\u2019s Elvis I and II and Robert Rauschenberg\u2019s Story.<\/p>\n

2) Song Dong\u2019s Communal Courtyard<\/strong>: Take a glimpse back into a part of China\u2019s history with AGO\u2019s exhibition Song Dong\u2019s Communal Courtyard. The exhibit displays a series of 100 vintage Chinese wardrobe doors sprawled in a snake pattern in small quarters to capture traditional livings spaces in Beijing\u2019s past. This avant-garde art installation puts into focus the contrast between traditional architectures and modern living to reflect our urban experience.<\/p>\n

3) CHIHULY<\/strong>: Bask in the vibrant hues and reflective colours of glass in the upcoming glass exhibition titled CHIHULY. Created by artist Dave Chihuly, the exhibit showcases how glass captures light, colour and form in various installations and sculptures, making it the ultimate visual experience. The exhibit will take place in the Royal Ontario Museum from June 25th <\/sup>to January second of 2017.<\/p>\n

4) Tattoos: Ritual. Identity. Obsession. Art<\/strong>: For tattoo devotees and body art lovers, ROM\u2019s tattoo exhibit is not one to miss. The art exhibition is set to open on April second celebrating the fascinating art and history of tattoo as it has evolved over time and culture.
