The 10th anniversary of the Toronto Chocolate Festival kicks off on October 17th and runs through until November 8th. Several events highlight the over three week long event, including chocolate tastings, learning how to make chocolate, and even chocolate eating contests. The events are suitable for chocolate lovers of all ages. Here are the highlight.

Throughout the entire festival during the weekends at The King Edward hotel you can attend a Chocolate High Tea. Not only will you be served your afternoon tea, but there will be an assortment of chocolates and chocolate pastries available to eat. It’s the perfect relaxing way to spend an hour of your afternoon.

One of the highlights of the Chocolate Festival is the annual chocolate ball. This signature event is one of Toronto’s most anticipated annual events, and it is held on October 22nd this year. A wide array of chocolates will be found at the event, from hors d’oeuvres to desserts. And what would a ball be without music? A Guest DeeJay will host the evening, with several interactive performers scheduled to entertain you.  The floor show also features a silent auction and giveaways.

If you expect a little more from your chocolate, then you might want to consider attending the Toronto Luxury Chocolate Show on November 2nd at Roy Thomson Hall. The one day event is a showcase of tasting, demos, and a place to buy all the chocolate you desire. Featuring Wine and Chocolate tasting, chocolate makers demonstrations, hands-on chocolate making classes, chocolate sculptures, chocolate painting, a chocolate eating contest, and even chocolate and beer tasting.

And what would be a festival without  a large competition. The Chocolate 911 Relay features firefighters, police officers and paramedics battling the clock and each other as they try to win the CFW Chocolate Bowl. Basically they try to eat as much chocolate as possible before time runs out. It’s all out warfare among the many emergency heroes of the city.

And if you can’t attend any of the above events, don’t worry, you can still take advantage of the many deals available throughout the city. Many local retailers are offering specials that are only available once a year.
