From deli counters, to diners, to brunch spots, to top of the line steakhouses, Montreal has the most restaurants per capita, outside of NYC, in all of North America. Needless to say, this city is extremely spoiled with good places to eat. While finding a good restaurant in Montreal is not hard, we have put a list together of some of our favourites.

Here is a list of ten restaurants to try in Montreal:

1) Beauty’s Luncheonette

Known for their bagel cream cheese and lox sandwich, Beauty’s luncheonette is one of Montreal’s top brunch restaurants. Being around for over seventy years, the amazing bagel belts, pancakes, and eggs have kept the customers coming year after year.

2) Schwartz’s Deli

Being the oldest deli in Canada, Schwartz’s is a Montreal classic. With its world famous original smoked meat and homemade French fries, it is one meal to never forget.

3) Milo’s

Looking for Greek inspired food? Milo’s is the perfect spot in Montreal to fulfill your needs. From the Milo’s special, which is zucchini and eggplant, lightly fried saganaki cheese and tzaziki, to fried calamari, Milo’s has got you covered with the top of the line Greek enthused foods. 

4) Moishes Steakhouse

Winner of the Diner’s Choice 2015 by OpenTable, Moishe’s Steakhouse is known to be one of Montreal’s best restaurants. With a large variety of the best quality steaks, there is no doubt you will enjoy your meal here.

5)  Ryu

This chic Japanese eatery and sushi bar grabs the attention of a younger crowd with its clubby, cool vibe. Known for its creative sushi rolls and popcorn shrimp, this sushi bar is a must in Montreal.

6) Gibbys

Located in Old Montreal, this traditional steakhouse is a Montreal classic. Known for their top notch quality and large portions, Gibbys always sets the bar high.

7) Lucille’s Oyster Dive

Located in Montreal’s West End, Lucille’s Oyster Dive serves fresh seafood and oysters from the east and west coast. Although the menu changes seasonally, the restaurant includes some classics such as lobster rolls and fish & chips.

8) Black Strap BBQ

Offering an authentic Memphis-style barbecue experience, Black Strap BBQ features dishes like pork ribs, beef brisket, turkey and chicken. With their secret spice rub on all of their meats, it is definitely a Montreal favourite!

9) Grinder

With a mix of raw and cooked items including tartar, Carpaccio’s and steaks, Grinder is more than just a simple steakhouse. All food lovers will be able to find something to their liking. Known for their tartare, Grinder is certainly a recommended restaurant in Montreal.

For all you Japanese lovers, Park is a place you must try. Located in Westmount, Montreal, this restaurant combines traditional Japanese cuisine with Korean and South American flavours. Try a Park Bowl, or some short ribs!
