Vancouver Art, Fashion, Food And Music Festivals In April 2015

The weather is finally warm enough to venture outside in Vancouver, and even though it might rain a little bit this month, there are plenty of reasons to make your way around the city and explore. We take a look at some of the fun things you can do in April.

From Friday April 10th – April 18th you can take part in The 2015 VSO SPRING FESTIVAL.  This year the event focuses on the career of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, considered to be one of the greatest musical geniuses who ever lived.  From a screening of the Academy Award winning film Amadeus, to concerts featuring his three last, great symphonies, you will get to explore Mozart’s life.

We bet you didn’t know that large constructions can be made out of cans!  CANSTRUCTION VANCOUVER 2015 is out to show you just what can be done for a 13th year.  Giant sculptures can be seen at 3 galleries in the city, using over 100,000 cans of food.  Not only is the art fun to see, but all cans are donated to charity afterwards as well.

If you are a foodie, you won’t want to miss EAT! VANCOUVER FOOD AND COOKING FESTIVAL that runs from April 27th – May 3rd.  The week long festival celebrates Vancouver’s culinary culture by hosting hands-on workshops, an exhibition at BC Place with over 250 exhibitors, and celebrity chefs preparing dinners  across the downtown core.

The 9th edition of ECO FASHION WEEK takes place at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel from April 19, 2015 – April 24, 2015. It’s a celebration that brings together the fashion-conscious and sustainable-minded.  The focus is of course the beauty of the environment around us, while looking good at the same time.
