The 3 Best Cocktails to Make This Summer
There’s nothing better on a hot summer afternoon than sitting on the back patio and sipping a refreshing drink. Here are the three best cocktails to make this summer.
Tinto de Verano
This drink translates into “red wine of summer,” which is exactly what this is. You’ll want a sweeter red wine for this drink, like the Spanish rioja.
1 cup red wine
1 cup lightly sweetened lemon-lime soda
1 lemon wedge
Combine the red wine and soda. Garnish with a lemon wedge. If the drink is too sweet, add a splash of seltzer.
Citrus and spicy combine in this light, refreshing spritzer. Add in an ounce and a half of silver rum if you want to bump up the buzz.
2.5 oz Fruitlab Jasmine Organic Liqueur
8 oz. seltzer
10 drops Bar Keep Baked Apple Bitters
1 lemon Wedge
Fill a 16-ounce mason jar halfway with ice. Add the jasmine liqueur, seltzer and apple bitters and stir to mix. Rub the the rim of the jar with the lemon wedge, squeeze the juice of the wedge into the jar and drop the wedge into the drink.
Consider your thirst quenched with this cucumber cooler.
1 2-inch piece of cucumber, thinly sliced crosswise, plus one additional slice for garnish
1/8 tsp fresh thyme leaves
1 ½ oz. vodka
½ oz. simple syrup
In a cocktail shaker, combine the cucumber slices, thyme and ¼ cup crushed ice. Crush the ingredients until slushy using a muddler. Add vodka, simple syrup and some more ice. Cover and shake to combine. Pour into a glass and garnish with a slice of cucumber.
