With Milan being internationally recognized as one of the world\u2019s leading style capitals, it\u2019s no surprise that the Spring 2017 runways were filled with stunning designs. Milan Fashion Week has revealed a variety of artfully crafted pieces from the top Italian fashion houses, with Dolce & Gabbana staying true to its traditional Italian aesthetic.<\/p>\n

On the D&G runway, creative directors Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana featured their trademark embellishment and vibrant floral motifs. Models strut the catwalk in funky military inspired jackets with fringed detail and heavy embroidery. Matching short shorts and casual cropped pants also made a splash, along with beautifully patterned skirts. From broad black and white stripes to Italian inspired prints of oranges, contrasting prints were a key look. Meanwhile, tiny brocade skirts, black lace and iridescent rainbow sequins also stole the show.<\/p>\n

At Versace, Donatella Versace juxtaposed athleisure with sexy, sleek designs. Skintight colourblocked leggings in green and violet hues were paired with a billowing windbreaker. Short ruched dresses were also crafted out of windbreaker fabric, and boyfriend blazers offered a neutral, versatile effect.<\/p>\n

The Prada runway featured a graceful vintage aesthetic, with pieces which were inspired by the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. For designer Miuccia Prada\u2019s Spring 2017 collection, this translated into fluffy fringed accents on sleeves, pale blue collared blouses with abstract prints and belted trench coats. Splashes of red, classic patterned shirtdresses and gingham skirts were key looks.<\/p>\n

At Salvatore Ferragamo, the combination of athletic fashion and ladylike dressing also ruled the runways. From curve-hugging dresses with short puffed sleeves to splashy floral prints, girlish charm was in the air. Meanwhile, bold cobalt blue, navy, pale pink and cherry red brought a burst of colour to the spring collection.<\/p>\n

Giorgio Armani\u2019s take on Spring 2017 fashion included loose navy blue shorts, coordinating gladiator sandals and soft pastel blue and white floral prints. This trademark pattern adorned everything from strapless frocks to crisp blazers, while flowing mesh accents and slouchy printed trousers also left a mark.<\/p>\n

At Fendi, designer Karl Lagerfeld focused on airy organza blouses, shirtdresses and short yet structured jackets. The colour scheme ranged from pale pink and soft beige to icy blue and basic black. Meanwhile, watercolour florals, sheer frocks and the occasional metallic print on outerwear brought new life to the collection.<\/p>\n
