Although Demna Gvasalia may not be a household name yet, the 35-year-old Georgian designer was officially appointed as the creative director of Balenciaga in October. Recently, the Spanish fashion house offered a sneak peek of its debut print ad campaign from Gvasalia.<\/p>\n

According to Fashionista.com<\/a>, the snapshot (which was shared on Balenciaga\u2019s Instagram account) stars model Marland Backus.<\/p>\n

In the photo, Backus poses in a pair of oversized black sunglasses which bring a dramatic, edgy touch to her visage. Meanwhile, she completes her look with a statement jacket emblazoned with the fashion house\u2019s logo. For a finishing touch, a hint of dark blue plaid brings visual interest to her look.<\/p>\n

Fashionista.com also reports that stylist Lotta Volkova Adam dressed Backus for the new Balenciaga eyewear campaign. While it may be too early to see the rest of the campaign, the fierce shades on display are certainly a bold move.
