New York Fashion Week

Flirty Skirt Suits

At New York Fashion Week, the worlds of business and pleasure were officially combined with the revamped skirt suit. For Fall 2016, this ladylike suiting trend was updated with playful short skirts and funky jackets. On the runways, Michael Kors stuck to shades of charcoal grey, with an oversized double-breasted jacket paired with a coordinating short skirt. At Jason Wu, the look was a navy blue skirt suit, finished with a girly pleated hem and a luxurious fur collar. At Tory Burch, the focus was on tiny detailed prints, a cropped jacket and bold black buttons.

London Fashion Week

Playful Bows

The catwalks in London put the emphasis on preppy and authentically British style, with charming neckties leaving their mark for Fall 2016. At Erdem, Montreal-based and London-based designer Erdem Moralioglu added dainty black bows to flowing printed frocks with Edwardian inspired silhouettes. Meanwhile, the Topshop runways featured delicate bows which adorned lace dresses and knit sweaters. At Temperley London, designer Alice Temperley added long black bows to designs and experimented with whimsical pussybow blouses.
