Top Resort 2016 Looks- Michael Kors, Altuzarra and More
With the Resort 2016 season officially dominating the runways, it’s already time to take a sneak peek at the luxurious vacation looks for next summer. While you may just be planning your jet-setting getaway for this summer, the 2016 season is already in full swing on the catwalks. At Michael Kors, fresh and funky graphic prints made a splash for upcoming resort looks. With a colour palette of white, black, red and brown, the bold geometric patterns were sophisticated and neutral. Meanwhile, Altuzarra featured a crisp aesthetic with fitted suits in navy blue and white, playful fringed heels and bright pops of cherry red on both pantsuits and dresses. Designer Diane von Furstenberg stayed true to the 1970s inspired trend, with maxi dresses, jumpsuits, eye-catching floral prints, polka dots and oversized bows. DVF styles for Resort 2016 stuck to rich shades and patterns to create a contrasting vibe.
At Oscar de la Renta, new creative director Peter Copping focused on cheery red, yellow and blue tones, for a collection which brought classic primary colours to an entirely new level. A-line dresses, girlish mixed prints and waist-cinching silhouettes kept the classic Oscar de la Renta spirit alive on the runway.
At Fendi, pastel blue reigned supreme in the collection, while contrasting pops of yellow added a vibrant touch. We especially love the high-waisted shorts and the usage of mixed prints, which made their way onto everything from a bag to an oversized jacket.
Even if you’re not escaping to an exotic locale yourself, the fresh and free-spirited designs for Resort 2016 offer wardrobe inspiration. Here’s a closer look at the best of the season’s catwalks, which bring an afternoon of lounging by the poolside to mind.
