Designer Picks: Kyriako Caras Gives Us His Must Haves For Fall 2014
Kyriako Caras grew up surrounded by fashion in the Stephan Caras design studio, and began working with his father as a teenager. He became co-designer for the F/W 2014 collection of womenswear and has been applauded for his use of shapes, colours and silhouettes that perfectly capture the femininity of its wearers. Caras gave Real Style an inside look at what he thinks works for women and his must haves for fall 2014.
Real Style: What are your three essential must-haves for women this season and why?
Kyriako Caras: Pants: Narrow, Wide, High Waisted or Hip Resting. Beautifully tailored and made in exquisite textured fabrics. And for the more adventurous: Shorts tailored in the same fashion. Leg covering or not is at the ladies discretion! A superbly tailored jacket for daytime or dinner dressing again made in rich jacquard textured fabrics. This is a wonderful change-up for that staple cocktail dress.
Real Style: What are your favourite trends this season?
Caras: Fall floral prints and textured fabrics, cape coats, and leg hosiery opaque and patterned.
Real Style: What are your favourite accessories women need to start wearing this season?
Caras: Gucci leather horsebit knee boots, Oliver Goldsmith sunglasses and mega Gem rings.
Real Style: How do you define your latest collection?
Caras: For the 3LovesCollection F/W2014, Stephan Caras Design went back to three loves: Black, The Back, and the colour Fuchsia. Expert tailoring, defining silhouettes, luxe fabrics and dramatic cuts define this very feminine, elegant, sensual collection.
Real Style: If women could only buy one piece from your collections, what would it be and why?
Caras: The Black Jacquard cocktail jacket and shorts suit. It’s new, it’s fresh, it’s fun and it’s FASHION!
