What To Wear Black Friday Shopping
Alexander Wang Fall 2013
Get ready shoppers because Black Friday is just around the corner and we can all agree that shopping seriously reduced products can not only be stressful but daunting, and that is why we’ve created a few helpful tips and tricks in order to survive this shopping ordeal. From what to wear, and what to avoid, these helpful hints will help you keep on budget, and score the Black Friday Fendi fur piece you’ve been lusting over all season.
Pack light: Having your arms at the ready is a crucial tip in order to get the most out of your Black Friday shopping trip. Wear a purse that can be worn as a crossbody rather than a hand-held tote or your prized clutch. Make the most of your mobility, wear light layers, and remain as hands free as possible (headset pieces are acceptable today – and only today).
Don’t Get Hot & Heavy: Refrain from wearing your heavy winter jacket, as this will only weigh you down and warm you up amidst the swarms of shoppers. Leave your coat in the car and opt for light layers like sweaters and scarves that can be removed once shopping starts.
Comfort is key: Dressing for success takes on a whole new meaning today, so retire your skinny jeans for Black Friday shopping. You don’t want to be fussing with tight or uncomfortable clothing, but that doesn’t mean you have to be un-stylish. Look your best in a pair of cute leggings or silky pants. Loungewear hit the runways in a big way this season, so take cues from comfortable dressers like Rihanna on how to look great in sweatpants.
Fine Flats: Footwear is most important when you head out for Black Friday shopping. We know it sound obvious to skip the pumps, but we always see someone struggling in uncomfortable footwear. Flats are your best friend when shopping today. Also, this is not the day to break in new shoes. Even if your winter boots are flat and warm, slip into your old comfortable boots.
