World MasterCard Toronto Fashion Week Fall 2013 Day Two
In a short intro video before the show, Sid Neigum explained that he is interested in fashion that has a deeper meaning and function, such as military and religious uniforms. Though he is known for a very androgynous design aesthetic he took a much more feminine approach this season and even included his first print, a black, white and grey floral which came in a skinny pant paired with a short sleeved turtle necked tunic. A solo cello player sat at the top of the runway and provided the somber soundtrack for the collection which had plenty of black, green and even more white. A black leather vest with long draping and raw cut edges was an expected but certainly appreciated clear standout from the designer but it was the edgy winter florals that caught my attention and will make any fall outfit just a little bit more sophisticated.
