Dior & Balmain Stand Out At Paris Fashion Week For Fall 2013
After the beauty of Milan, fashion has turned its eye on the famous runways of Paris Fashion Week. After just a few days Paris Fashion Week has already delivered memorable fashion shows by some of the most beloved fashion houses in the world.
At Balmain, designer Oliver Rousteing continued the brands trend of offering top drama with a rock and roll edge. The drama this year came in the form of the over the top styling from the ‘80s. Statement shoulders ever more pronounced than ever. Hips and sleeved were flared out to create dramatic silhouettes. Balmain delivered their version of the power suit which comes complete with a statement gold belts and lots of embellishments. Shimmering gold and vibrant jewel tones helped to give the blingy pieces even more of a statement feel.
Dior continued their tradition of ladylike fashion in a neutral palette of black, white and blush for fall. Suits seem to be popular for fall and Dior offered their own take on the trend with blazers that flared out at the hips. Long coat dresses with a line skirts are quickly becoming one of the favourite trends of the season. Strapless dresses with peplum and ruffled skirts let the Dior girl cut loose a bit, while evening wear of floral embroidered chiffon were the lightest and airy side of the collection. The colours themselves made a statement with so many different ways to use the three hues and one big pop of red in a stunning coat really stood out amongst the season of neutrals.
