Chanel And Saint Laurent Show During Paris Fashion Week Fall 2013
The coveted runways of Paris Fashion Week have been on fire with shows from the world’s biggest names in fashion. Chanel and Saint Laurent have all debuted their fall 2013 collection to the fashion elite. See our peak at what you missed on the runways.
Karl Lagerfeld mixed the classic ladylike Chanel fashion with an edgy and sometimes futuristic feel. Traditional wool coats had new cutouts that showed off the models’ thigh high leather boots underneath. Skirts were very short barely peaking out under mathing blue and grey wool coats to make room for those same boots. Previous Chanel collections of late have been all about layering, but this time there were less layers and more matching sweater/coat and skirt combos for the good girl meets bad girl feel. With 80 looks in the collection, there was something for everyone. See the Chanel show here:
Now that Hedi Slimane is comfortable in his role at Saint Laurent, no one could wait to see what his second collection would bring. Inspired by grunge of the 90’s, Saint Laurent sent very familiar pieces back down the runway. Floral babydoll dresses, plaid button downs, and biker boots all very reminiscent of Courtney Love’s beginnings walked in the Saint Laurent show. Edgy leather dresses and jackets were worn with fishnet stockings and statement coats for the girl with attitude. Fall is all about being edgy at Saint Laurent. See the show here:
