Nicholas Kirkwood Designs An Oz The Great And Powerful Shoe Collection
Nicholas Kirkwood has made a shoe collection inspired by Oz The Great And Powerful. Kirkwood teamed up with Selfridges to make four exciting new shoes inspired by the Disney movie for the department store’s Shoe Carnival, which begins March 1 and runs until to April 21, 2013. There’s no word yet on whether each pair of shoes will take inspiration from each lead character, played by Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and James Franco, but we’re hoping for a pair of ruby slippers nonetheless. Designers like Charlotte Olympia and Rupert Sanderson are also making shoes exclusively for the Shoe Carnival, but Kirkwood’s Oz-inspired shoes will be in the spotlight of the Oxford Street Window displays with the iconic Yellow Brick Road and Emerald City in the background of the soon-to-be enchanting displays.

Inside the department store, shoppers will find yellow bricks from the original Wizard of Oz, along with costumes and props. The department store will also offer shoppers shoe-related services like studding, hand-painting, embossing and monogramming.
