An Edgy Twist To Your Little Black Dress
We certainly won’t argue against the Little Black Dress as the definitive piece for sophisticated, classic style but this season designers are shaking up it’s good girl image with edgy materials and unexpected details. Slip on one of these numbers to spice up your winter and holiday wardrobe.
Lanvin F/W 2011 went against an expected ladylike silhouette in favour of a tough, austere cut to create the ideal LBD for the girl who can take care of herself and is proud of it.
With her elegant pixie cut and subtle makeup and accessories, Ginnifer Goodwin channels the easy sophistication of a certain doe-eyed fashion icon. But do we see spiky beaded embroidery on the sleeves of her 3.1 Phillip Lim number? We’re fairly certain that Ms. Hepburn never sported subtle weaponry as adornment but we think she’d approve.
You know that it will be classy if Michael Kors has anything to say about it, but even the king of elegance couldn’t resist the charm of buttery black leather and knee high boots for a luxe take on this edgy trend.
