DSquared2 Open First Paris Store
Canadian born designers Dean and Dan Caten of DSquared2 have taken their fashion line to the next level by opening their first retail store in Paris. This past weekend, the Dsquared2 duo celebrated the opening of the store on Rue Saint-Honore with a ribbon cutting and in-store party.
Located alongside luxury brands like Yves Saint Laurent and Hermes, the Dsquared2 Parisian boutique marks another big step for the design duo. The pair are on the road to building a worldwide fashion empire with stores already open in Milan, where they are based, and St. Tropez.
Of course, the boys never forget to honour their home country in whatever they are doing. According to The Toronto Star, a feature wall in the store is made up entirely of Canadian wood adding a touch of home in the store.
For their most recent collection, DSquared2 showed a festival inspired Spring 2012 collection during Milan Fashion Week. In their typical outgoing style, the designers recreated the festival feel by playing U2 and Coldplay while models walked down a muddy runway. They showed a relaxed boho chic and rocker line with lots of layers including sequin and denim shorts, leather pants and jackets, muddy jeans, fringe, funky boho vests, leather and rubber boots and cool bohemian accessories.
