Go Head To Toe In Prints This Fall For More Dimension
While polka dots were a favourite pattern among designers this season, mixing & matching prints is also making waves with bold fashionistas looking to make a stylish statement. Our advice: stick to no more than two prints at a time and look to shades in a similar colour scheme for a cohesive finish. Hesitant to risk this offbeat recipe? Fortunately a few designers have created easy-to-wear pieces that do the work for you.
Proenza Schouler have mixed dark prints this season for stylishly casual fall looks. Here we see they have matched a knitted print sweater with a long printed skirt. The key to Proenza’s look is that while they mixed prints they kept the colours the same in all of their garments. Even the belt, sandals and bags stay within their blue, red, black and white colour palette.
Olivia Palermo went wild in Tibi prints recently. She showed how to do head-to-toe prints by keeping it all the same in a matching jacket and pant printed set. Her choice of a smaller print was perfect for her tiny frame.
Dries van Noten mixed prints and colours in his Fall collection. This shirt and draped skirt mixed prints on each piece itself adding even more. Again Dries has kept the colours matching allowing a few bold hits of yellow and purple to stand out in the black and white palette.
